Man chest

By man chest I mean man b**bs. I have lost 210 pounds and it has gotten much smaller, but I really want to have a nice chest where it kind of pops out. Should I focus more on chest exercises while I still have them? Is that weird?

I would suggest first try the 100push up challenge ... http://hundredpushups.com/index.html.. it takes small steps ... also I like repeating week 5 and 6... after it is finished to keep strong.

Yes you should be lifting heavy, for every muscle group including your chest, especially while you're losing massive amounts of weight. If you haven't been doing this already, start immediately.

Lifting weight will help bring muscles up, burn more calories, and make the loose skin look tighter. Good for you all around. personally, I would say start a full body lifting program. I like 5x5's but there's a ton out there.

  • I'm thinking that you have gynecomastia. If you feel around your under your nipple and feel hard masses of tissue, it's not going anywhere no matter how much you loose/trim/lift etc... I had it as well. Ask your physician about it to make sure.

I don't have it, I was worried about it but my doctor told me its just fat.

Ok that's good to hear....However, I'd still post this on the popular gyne website/forums or somewhere similar to confirm, because a lot of people get the same: It's just fat, it will go away, just exercise more etc.. from their doctor. I know I did...Until I sat down with a specialist who seriously knew what he was talking about.

Keep doing chest work. You need to keep cutting more but you'll eventually start seeing your chest pop out.

Can a surgery be done for it? Any chance you know how much it would cost if it is?
  • Yes, and surgical removal of the tissue is the only true fix for it if it is actually gynecomastia (don't fall for any gimmick fixes on the internet). The cost can range depending on the severity and surgeon you get, most likely $4000-7000 is what I have heard.

Before you consider that path, for someone who has lost as much as you have uneven fat loss and high local fat reserves are not uncommon.

Find a workout program that you like, that is progressive and stick to it - you'll see significant changes 2-4 months down the road.
