Can I just mention, that I love and am hooked on Shakeology!
No... I am not an agent or whatever the heck you call them. A friend of mine gave me a sample packet and I ordered some, one time ship for a combo pack, from the site.
I totally believe that real food trumps a shake all day long. However, I love using this as a breakfast meal replacement. It's yummy, filling, gives you energy, eliminates cravings, has a variety of great ingredients, low calorie carb and sugar....
I've tried others like Garden of Life products and GNC Total Lean 25 but this one beats those ones hands down!

If you really spent months doing research on health and nutrition (as your profile states), you would know that Shakeology is a waste of money.0

I wouldn't call it a waste of money but it definitely will burn a hole in your wallet for what you are actually getting. (Marketing is expensive) If your body is responding really well to it then that is awesome and all but you can get some higher quality stuff for much much cheaper. I'm just not sure why you would use a whey isolate as a meal replacement when there are much better (and cheaper) protein options for that use.0

Could you elaborate? I've typically just thought that whey + whatever other ingredients (milk, fruit, peanut butter, etc) needed to create the macro profile you want is the way to create a meal replacement shake.
Based on your comment, I take it that you would use whey only for pre or post workout supplementation but perhaps use an alternate source, such as egg protein, for meal replacement.
Thanks in advance for any additional info you can provide!0 -
Lies...it is not yummy at all.0

If you have to point it out, it's probably not true. The post alone is a sales pitch from either a current, or aspiring coach. Pathetic really.

To elaborate, one of the major bragging points of whey isolates (and why they are usually more expensive) is the quick breakdown/absorption of protein with it. That makes it really ideal for a post workout source. Now, if you are using something as a meal replacement then you would look at something like casein protein which is a slower and more steady breakdown (leaving you more full for longer mind you.) or milk protein isolate that would give you a mix of casein and whey.
The thing with shakeology is that for that price you can buy hydrolysate protein which is supposed to be the beezneez in the protein market. I haven't personally tried it bc I refuse to spend the money. Throw back a cheapo vit B complex supplement and you've got a superior protein shake for the same if not lower cost.
Also, shakeology has flax in it. The jury is still out on if this is safe and desirable in men for multiple reasons.
Also, thisology?

As usual, all rude and totally ignorant responses to a simple opinion.
Whatever...
I happen to like it and wanted to provide an unbiased opinion. It's really of no consequence to me how anyone else feels about it.0 -

Rudeness is subjective and as for totally ignorant, nah, that's just your opinion which I believe is rude.0 -

What's this about flax being bad? I sometimes put it in my smoothies. I know I'm not a man but I am curious.0 -

These would appear to be contradictory sentences?
Haven't tried Shakeology. I have no particular opinion about it.0 -

You can spend all day reading conflicting studies on flax when it comes to prostate cancer and hormonal changes with no clear winner. At least that was the case unless something new and defining has come out. I tend to steer clear of such things and everyone should do their own due dillegence with any ingredient they ingest as to make an educated choice about what they are putting in their body. On the other end I don't believe I have ready anything conflicting for women. All good across the board.0 -
