Kettlebell Workouts

I was curious if anyone had any good experiences with using kettle bells routines to get a decent workout? How many do you use, just one or do use two? Thinking about starting up something at home using them but was looking for some recommendations other than just googling it. Thanks!!

You can definitely get a good workout out. I've only taken classes at gym but we use one for some exercises, two for others. Maybe this group can help you with home workouts. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/146-enter-the-kettlebell

Below is a link to a video of the class I used to take at my old gym. I moved out of the area and sadly no one around here has a similar class. BRUTAL cardio workout and if you up your kettlebell weight over time you develop muscle too. Did I say BRUTAL?

I have a couple (20kg [iron], 28kg [comp]). I use them as singles, often as proxy dumbbells (floor press, row etc) but also for swings (primarily), snatches and cleans etc.

You can certainly have a good workout with them but your goals will determine exactly what you are going to want to be doing and whether or not kettlebells are likely to be optimal.

Irrespective, they are fun. Plus when you have company you can drunkenly challenge them to perform some snatches. It is a wonder I've not hurt anyone yet....

    Lol!!

I've been doing kb's for a few weeks now and really enjoy it. It's fun yet very challenging. I am currently doing 10#'s, but I think I can move-up to 15#'s easily. I am very interested in joining a class here locally.
