The immediate need rant thread::::



Our boss isn't here today-and as such- we are much more 'quiet' and sometimes we get lots done- sometimes we don't get as much done.
Today my coworker has been on the phone for easily 45 minutes talking to his buddy about playing cards or whatever.... loudly. He left- on the phone-was gone for 30+ minutes and came back STILL on the frigging phone- he's only 4 feet from me- and I know now all about his card playing life.

And while I readily admit to not being the most efficient worker- (here I am on MFP complaining) I have mad ADD -and work slowly on stuff- I keep to myself and I don't spend hours on the phone for personal calls or go wondering around for hours at a time. I'm always here- and I don't hold long personal calls. I find that to be one of the most annoying habits a co-worker can have.

MAI-JIMMIES.

They have been rustled.

I don't want to hear about your poker playing issues.
I don't want to hear about your effing kids.
I don't want to here you SKYPING your kids at work via your phone.

    For a second there, I thought this was going to be about chocolate sprinkles.

    Anyway... can you listen to music while you work and just drown him out? That's what I do.

    As for me, someone hit my car at some point in the past few days. I'm not sure when or who or why. But I found a dent on the passenger dent door with some red paint. And yeah, it's a tiny dent but it's big enough that I notice it every single time I'm on the passenger side. And I know it's the stupid red truck that always parks over the lines at my apartment complex because 1. he can't park ever. 2. No one else has a red car that lives near me. But I can't exactly prove that he did it. So I just stand there and pout every time I see the silly dent.

    I have a really great job, I like the work and the environment is very low stress. I have this one crazy freaking co-worker who manages to make this job stressfull. I don't even know how it is possible, but for her apparently it is. She drives me up the wall most days. The good days are when she hits her breaking point and yells "I am done, I am just done" and stays in her office for a few days playing candy crush. Oh well, better for the rest of us to not have her ridiculous negativity around.

    My jimmies are rustled because I got my main computer back from tech support with a new video card and I tried to recable my office when I hooked my computer back up and I don't like the way things are turning out.

    I'm done, I am just done! If you need me, I'll be playing candy crush.

    I did- I put on my head phones- which I don't like having BOTH in- because I can't here if someone calls the main line (our sec is out today so we all have to pick up the phone) ... but I couldn't- so FLAW has been my constant companion for the last 45 minutes. He's walked away now- not even sure where he is.

    sorry about your car- happened to me with a jeep- I even got a picture of the jeep but his plates didn't come up in the DMV system- so no one can get the *kitten*. pout pout.

    there was a guy who was like that at one of our other locations- just exhausting- could never work with someone like that long term!

    Perfect timing. I work in such a small office, two attorneys, two support staff (one of them me) and my co-worker is the laziest, self-centered person in the world. Which of course means that it falls on my shoulders to pick up the slack. Its not even that she is overly busy its just she complains and acts a ***** and so instead of my bosses dealing with her I am the one they go to. So guess who is working this Sunday. Oh and she is filthy. She eats breakfast everyday at the office and she spills sugar all over the counter or drops jelly on the counter and never cleans it up. There are so many used tissue and napkins on her desk. Really it is super gross.

    I work in a small office as well. Two lawyers and one support staff (that would be me) The messy one is one of the lawyers! In our mini-kitchen area (if you can really call it a kitchen area its a counter with a microwave, keurig, mini-fridge and cupboards that its) he makes his coffee every day and leaves the cream out, leave the spoon he stirred with on the counter and puts the empty sugar packs back in the container with the new ones. There is trash can inside the cupboards, however, he seems to forget every single day that it's there!

    he puts the empty packs back in with the unused ones- WTF.

    I'd be nagging till kingdom come on that one. small offices certainly have some downsides.
