Getting really poor sleep?

Hello all!

So the last couple days I've been sleeping something aweful. I'm waking up easily (not like me), I'm waking up earlier (5am) and having trouble falling back asleep. I'm also sleeping restlessly. When I wake up I feel like a truck hit me, yesterday I woke up with really badly inflamed joints. I'm still having some of that roll over into today. When I am sleeping, if I can sleep, I want to sleep the day away.

I've noticed a lot of this happens on the days I work my back muscles enough to get DOMS. Then it happens that day I worked my back and the next two days after. But this has leaked over into the last five days.I'm actually worried to go backto the gym.

I've only truely been tracking my calories for the last week. I'm under my calorie goal most days and I'm a little low on my protine, but otherwise I hit all my macros.

Any ideas?

MFP has me at 2520 calories or less. I'm hitting about 2100
2-3xs a week, 30 - 45 mins of cardio (usually walking at 2 incline and 2.8 speed with occasional random sprints for 30sec-1min) then 45-60 mins of weight training, sets of muscles if I go 3xs a week, full bodyish if I go twice. (it's full body-ish, because I think my diasis recti from my pregnancy keeps getting bigger when I work my abs, so I'm only doing very light ab work.)

I'm sure others will join in with some good advice for you.
The only thing I can suggest is getting enough protein for all the strength training you do.
I think that helps with the muscle repair.
Also make sure you are weighing all your food properly and logging everything.
I know if I don't eat enough, I don't sleep well at all.
How long have you been working out? It takes awhile for your body to become accustomed to your exercise.
What is your rate of weightloss?
If the pain remains or increases-maybe a visit to the doc?

ETA-make sure you drink enough water!

I've been working out for about 10 weeks now. And the odd part is I only ever have this issue if I work my back hard. I've worked my back before more moderately and don't get that issue but end up seeing very little results. So far my back and chest have been the only two areas that haven't been able to increase weights yet.

So far, my rate of weightloss is about a half lb a week or so. But it could actually be more that that. If I track the weight loss and it doesn't move I get too depressed to want to work more. so I try to focus on how I feel.

I definetly get enough water : D I have a half gallon water bottle I take w me everywhere. Almost always I finish one off by the end of my workout and the other i drink throughout the day.

    I hope I don't have to see a doctor. I can't find a good one where I am.
  • I woke up one morning about a year ago and i had pains in all my major joints, hips, knees and shoulders. I thought it was because i worked out too hard. i felt like i had been hit by a train. Unfortunately for me it didn't go away and took 5 months to diagnose Polymyalgia Rheumatica. I am now on prednisone and feeling better-not 100 % but enough to work out again. If it doesn't go away soon -check it out with your doctor

I will thank you. So far no doctor has found anything wrong. I really think a lot of it is my weight and my joints just finally say f*** you fat lady, to me.

It was better today, but I'm still feeling worn out.
