90 day diet

I have several questions regarding this Dr.Oz 90 Day Diet thing that's being all the hype lately.
Some of my co-workers have been doing it together for a month now. One of them has lost over 10lbs.
How does it work? What do you eat? Is it safe and healthy? Is it just for temporary success or long term success? I'm sure it works differently for some people, because we all have different body types and such. I just heard that it doctor approved and effective!
What are you thoughts on it? Have you tried it? Did it work out for you?

Thanks:)

First clue should be that it's Dr. Oz endorsed.

    This.

90 days has an end point. What then? Eat whatever you want? Temporary diet = yo-yo diet.

If you do what you have always done, you will get the results you have always gotten. I think the best thing you could do would be to use the 90 days to work on making a permanent habit. It could be adding a salad to dinner, or adding some fruit to breakfast, or adding in running to your weekly routine, or some other positive lifelong habit that you could acquire.

I totally agree. I am not trying this out for myself. I was curious about it. Now it's confirmed that it is a load of bull.

I don't know the diet. So I can't speak on it specifically. Generally Dr Oz is not an authority on anything. In the end he's just trying to make a buck. However. I do find that a lot of these types of diets are either starvation diets OR they attempt to cut out foods from your diet. Both of which are never good. I would recommend reading ir, doing the research and taking away any useful tips or recipes from it and creating your own eating lifestyle change.

I know of some other diets, that are torn up in this forum, that are good healthy and doable. Provided you follow it the first time. I do very well with what i do, and I don't miss out on anything.. and despite the "what happens on day X" comments. I've lost and kept off the weight for quite awhile now. That is with eating pizza occasionally and ice cream occasionally and even candy occasionally.

If it's one of those "cut this out of your diet for 90 days and watch the weight melt off" then it's not realistic, and it won't last and on day 91, or as soon as you reintroduce that particular food the weight will come right back with it. If it actually teaches you how to eat and what proper nutrition is, without banning foods forever. It might be worth a look.

Of course the best diet is to eat what you want in moderation and be in deficit. Some of us need a little help in that department initially.

So agree - stay away from Dr. Oz. I've lost 70 lbs by changing my diet and exercising. I still eat things like pizza or french fries but eat alot more healthy and eat in moderation things like pizza or french fries etc.

Find out how much you think you want to weigh. Find out the input/output you need to maintain weight at that level. Eat/and do that amount of diet/exercise daily... continually. This is a lifestyle change that will be sustainable. It will work better than any of the gimmicks we see out there.
