Looking for boring mainstream friends

Hi! I'm boring and mainstream.

Strange how the LGBT and feminist thread was deleted. I'm not surprised though; the internet is full of crazies. Plus LGBT and feminism are hot button issues and there is a certain group of individuals who like to fight them. So yeah not surprising at all.

Anyway, I know that on Yahoo Answers used to have problems with non offensive questions being deleted, or questions that were controversial but not offensive by nature. I guess its all subjective.

Obviously, having an opinion these days means that you're a threat and shouldn't be encouraged.

So, this is at least the 2nd thread with either lgbt or lesbian in the topic title in the last few weeks that has been deleted very soon after it was opened. The mods said the other was deleted at the OP's request. Now I'm wondering if it isn't more about homophobia. :grumble:

So much this. Blatant misogyny can go unchecked, but post about feminism and/or LGBTQA and it's a "divisive topic". Sexual harassment? That's okay! A post with some butts in yoga pants? Delete/lock/banish to the second circle of Hell!

Actually, I'm wondering why the "looking for lgbt and feminist friends" thread was deleted. What kind of person reports something like that? Did the "what are you giving up for lent" thread get similarly deleted?

I actually wouldn't be surprised if they were deleted at the OP's request, because they always devolve into people being dramatic idiots. I mean, there are a lot of really good threads that I don't participate in because I can see that they'll just deteriorate. It might be homophobia, but it really might just be that the OP's don't want the ridiculous drama.
