Hi I'm Morbidly Obese

Yep! Been a progressively larger person from about age 30 but never been this heavy. Gone from 154KG to 160KG and now fed up with the breathlessness and backache when I do any sort of exertion.
I just don't get it. Why can't I see my true physical self when I look in the mirror? Why am I still in denial?
I religiously stuck my 2000 Cals a day plan with no problem in doing so at all and with the extra exercise, walking our new dog a mile twice a day, expected my weight to fall off but it has not. Instead over the year it went up a stone..
I must be doing something wrong, but what because I have had all the tests done and nothing obvious has been found?
Bit depressed but angry enough now to have another go with renewed focus.
May add a couple of 600 Cal fasting days into my regime to see if that helps any.
Anyway, it's nice to be back. Here's to the future new me!

Hi! Good work in recommitting to this. You can do it.
Do you think that the additional weight could be some muscle?
How did you calculate your 2000 cals intake, was it through MFP or did you calculate it using BMR and TDEE? Did you weigh and log everything you ate every day? Did you eat back your exercise calories?
The answers to these questions could help to determine why the weight didn't come off. There's so many knowledgeable people on here that can give you advice, this is a great place to start.0 -
Did you weigh your food or just estimate the portions?0

Are you weighing your food?.
Get a heart rate monitor to know your calorie burn better.0 -
Hi & thanks for all the responses.
1. 2000 Cals a day was the figure automatically generated by the site when I put in my statistics and desired goal. The BMR calculator informed me I needed 400 more to maintain basic functions.
2. Yes, always weigh my food. I actually aim for a 1800 cals daily limit to allow for any inaccuracies. I actually find it hard to eat 2000 cals of food a day.
3. With all the walking I believe some of it may be down to muscle but I think a lot of the extra is down to first quitting smoking and then quitting Cola (4 litres a day min). So lost two stimulants, one after the other which, due to the metabolic slow down, is bound to cause some uplift in weight. Noticed similar when I was daft enough to try slimming using pills. Once I stopped using the pills the bulk returned +more.
4. Heart rate monitor sounds like an area worthy of investigation.
Finally, thanks for all your encouragement.
Day 3 and still well on target!0
