Supplements, pre-workouts/BCAA's/creatine question

Okay, so I got some samples of a few pre-workouts in my recent bodybuilding.com order. I've been dosing with creatine in my post-workout protein shakes on lifting days and I know some pre-workouts contain creatine already ... if I take a pre with creatine should I ditch the post-workout creatine addition? I also usually take my ON BCAA's pre-workout, would those be superfluous with a pre-workout? The samples I got were of C4 and ON's newish platinum pre. Any advice is appreciated!

There is a certain saturation level for creatine in your body. If you can uptake more than 5g then you are very genetically gifted.

I just really want to know why you've been taking your creatine post workout?

Iirc, the label on the last creatine container I looked at indicated post-workout as the best time to take the creatine.

I take 5g in the morning, because easy.

You don't need to take Creatine pre or post workout. Any time of day is fine.

thats what I thought. Saturated is saturated and the levels dont drop back down daily. It takes a while just like it takes a while to load to saturation.

    Right?

OP perhaps balance your creating intake to equal 5 grams a day. But, I doubt your doing damage by being a bit over. It can cause stomach pain, but, i dont think the difference between 5-7 grams is going to be any kind of health risk. Diminishing returns are quite likely.

Hmmm.. always thought pre just to be certain you were topped off before hitting the gym. Must be a victim of some bro science I had cataloged back in the head as fact.

I would dump them all and just make sure I'm hitting my protein target for the day.

Unless I was trying to time peak creatine saturation with an event.
Or I was having trouble getting through a workout on a very rare occasion and I was bored with coffee (you never know?).
Or, some how, I started to think BCAAs were anything other than superfluous full stop.

As mentioned creatine can be taken any time of the day. And for most of the science, while there is a "window" for optimal intake (for highest efficiency) that is supported, it's more the OVERALL approach that is important. One could be great at pre, post workout regimens, but if the rest of nutritional intake sucks throughout the day, it's all for naught.
Like my friend DavPaul would say "just lift and eat".

    I disagree entirely.

    DavPaul doesn't have any friends.
