Does anyone else have a gigantic breakfast?

When I wake up, at 10am or so, I normally eat around 900 calories. At around 4pm I have 400 calories and then at about 9pm I'll have a 100-200 calorie snack. It's the only thing that seems to work for me. Everyone's shocked when they see how much I eat of a morning. Whenever I eat 400-500 calories for breakfast, I'm normally hungry a couple of hours later and end up eating too much. I'm not sure if this is a bad thing but I'm never hungry!

Not I! I eat dinner as my biggest meal, which seems to work for me. If big breakfasts work for you, that's awesome! I just feel full and uncomfortable with a big breakfast before 11:00 (I am allll over some brunch though).

Yes! I love my big breakfasts (usually always including eggs and often bacon hehe), medium lunches and then a smaller dinner. I allow myself snacks whenever I need them throughout the day - and a large portion of my allowance is saved up for snacks!

That being said, I'm a shift worker (a nurse), so sometimes I'm having dinner for breakfast, lunch at midnight, or don't even get a meal break! Having a big breakfast (the meal I eat upon waking up, whatever time that is) means that I can get through my day without feeling hungry or reaching into the chocolate jar at work….well, reaching in too often :blushing:

Seems to work for me though, although everyone is different.

I usually try to eat a smaller breakfast because I tend to have most of my cravings later at night and if I eat too much in the morning I will surely overeat at night.

However, the last couple days I've been having a 4 egg omlette with chopped mixed peppers and onions and 4 chicken sausage patties, which comes to be about 650cals. I'll usually have it around 2pm (I don't wake until 10am and can't usually eat until noon at the earliest).

I find that eating this particular meal makes me stuffed and satisfied. Today I had it at around 1:45p-2:00p, and right now it's about 7:30pm and I'm still not hungry... which is REALLY weird for me because this is around the time where I am RAVENOUS and trying to eat everything in sight. So... yeah, I'm thinking now I haven't been eating enough breakfast and will continue to eat at least 600 cals. I don't know if you'd call that gigantic... I wouldn't mind eating more, obviously lol but I'm comfortable with that.

Wow. That is a massive breakfast. You realize that those chicken patties have a ton of salt. I hope your drinking enough water.

Well by technicality, big breakfasts are best! It's good to spread it all out but if you must have a bigger meal in the day, breakfast would be the one! It holds you all day and by the time you go to dead it will have burned off. I myself don't have a big breakfast because 1. i don't have much time for it, and 2. I end up actually being hungrier at the end of the day then in the morning. xD

My breakfast is usually around 600.

Quantity wise, it isn't so large (two fried eggs fried in bacon drippings, two pieces of Ezekiel bread, two slices of bacon), but it sure keeps me full long. Lots of protein, fat, AND fiber. Perfect meal!

Mine hangs around 500cals on days where I workout first thing in the morning, otherwise it's about 350. It's a surprising switch from the old days of not eating until lunch...

I eat about 100 more in the AM to get me going. It seems to work for me too.

Personally, I think you're doing it right! Breakfast should be your biggest meal and then each meal after that should be a little smaller. I eat huge breakfasts a lot too or else I'm hungry again in 2 hours haha

Its not a bad thing, how much you eat or meal timing doesn't matter. As long as your hitting the right number calories at the end of the day is what matters. 2 meals, or 8. Doesn't matter, do what works for you!

Matter of preference. Some do well on a big breakfast, some on a moderate calorie one and some like myself skip it daily and eat the calories later. As mentioned, it really doesn't matter when you get your TOTAL calories in by the end of the day.
