I've really never had avocado before and recently bought some, and was looking for some delicious ideas.

Guacamole is the best preparation imo
I also love it sliced or smashed up on a sandwich, diced on a salad, on top of chili or tortilla soup. I'm also into eating it for breakfast - scrambled eggs topped with cheddar, diced avocado, and salsa = awesome.
During the summer we make this avocado-corn chowder regularly: http://www.cookinglight.com/food/recipe-finder/creamy-soup-recipes-00412000080238/page16.html0 -
Eat it.
For real, I like it on salad, lettuce wraps and mixed with tuna and lime.0 -
OMG avocado.
I eat it plain, on sammiches, whip it up into a healthy guac and dip my chicken in it and/or use it as a salad dressing. Nom nom nom.0 -
The other day I made turkey burgers on a whole wheat bun topped with swiss cheese and a few slices of avocado. It was amazing! Avocado with burgers (and really any type of sandwich) is the bomb.
Sometimes I will just dice it up and drizzle with a little EVOO, balsamic vinegar and salt and pep.0 -
instead of mayo, use avacado0
-
I love to mash up one half, mix in some light ranch dressing and sriacha. mmm!
otherwise i usually make guacamole
i also love love LOVE it on burgers or sandwiches but i don't eat those very often.0 -
I pretty much put it on everything. It makes everything better, in the same way that bacon makes everything better. Bacon and avocado together is, well, perfection. :laugh:0

I'm obsessed with raw desserts. Avocado chocolate pudding! Mash 1/2 of a ripe avocado mix in 1-2 T unsweetened cocoa powder. Blend with honey to taste! Chill if desired. One serving. One delicious, amazing serving.0

I use knorr tomato (w/ chicken) bouillion, and then chunk up tomato and avocado in the broth, top w/ some cheese....its delich and filling and gives that nice wam all over feeling that is good on cold days.
Really there is nothing you can't do with it....great w/ eggs, on sandwiches, in salads, plain w/ some salt and lime, in mac and cheese.....the sky is the limit.0 -
buuurrrgerrrssss.....and bacon....and cheddar....and where's my napkin?0
-
I chop it up and toss it into cooked barley with olives and a lemon vinaigrette dressing for an awesome Mediterranean-style salad.
Also a good topping for burgers, sandwiches, grilled cheese, etc.0 -

I eat avocado so many different ways I think I might someday wake up green. But one of my favorite things to do is to dice up a hard boiled egg, grape tomatoes and diced avocado. Add a splash of red wine vinegar to help break the avocado down...delicious!0

A spoon, freshly cracked black pepper, and a grind of alder smoked salt. Guac is good too, but I don't always want to eat Mexican recipes. A lot of tropical countries where avocado grows use it as a fruit in sweet preparations instead of North American style savories. Try it chunked up in a tropical fruit salad with mango, pineapple, papaya, and banana.0

I LOOOVE avocado! I'm eating it plain with a little bit of salt as we speak0

Straight off the peel. Can't wait very long to prepare it before I want to take a bite.0

guacamole, chopped into salads, as a top for a burrito bowl, i've heard of some that even put them into smoothies, but i'm not that adventurous.0

I like it lots of ways...in salads, guac and on burgers. Having this this weekend on a burger with pepperjack cheese and verde salsa and I'm looking forward to it.0

I just finished a wrap with sliced avocado on it. so YUMMM and creamy...0

Me too!!! Yummy coarse sea salt.0 -
To make the most delicious creamy dressing for salads or as a condiment for latin inspired foods: Put in blender 1 avocado, 2 tbsp water, 1 tbsp lime juice, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp plain white vinegar, 2 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp fresh herbs (parsley/cilantro). blend, add more water if its not thick enough. add garlic and cumin and hot sauce if you wanna make it more flavorful!
Or as a snack, half an avocado with 1/8 cup pumpkin or sunflower seeds, yum! Just sprinkle seeds and scoop out delicious creamy crunchy bites!0 -
I eat them on crackers with crab and cheese, or salmon and cheese, on sandwiches, in wraps, etc
Tonight it's going on my bacon cheese burger.0 -
Its always great with Tacos, but i also eat it with my Burgers!!!! I love the stuff! In my sandwiches and sometimes salads. Once with pizza. ITS AMAZING! lol0

Um, this sounds amazing??? I'm definitely going to make this sometime soon because I need it in my life!
One of my favorite ways to eat avocados is to mash up a little bit of one, put it on a slice of toast, and then top that with an overeasy egg. It's a really nice one-handed breakfast (or you can use a knife and fork to feel fancy like I do). I also like:
- cubing it and mixing it with fresh bacon crumbles
- adding it to smoothies for extra creaminess
- spreading some of the mash onto sandwiches
- tossing cubes of it with some salad
- adding it to the pocket of an omelette with some chili powder and bacon
- taco/burrito garnish anyone?
- speaking of tacos, making it into some killer guac of course
and just spooning it straight out of the peel with some salt and pepper on it (I may add some olive oil/cottage cheese/diced tomato on top if I'm in the mood for something a little fancier).
TL;DR: Avocados = good with everything.0 -
Let it rot in the refrigerator.0

I have put it in smoothies before0 -
On toast with tomato and salt!0

I eat avocado pretty much daily...most of the time I just toss some salt on there or some hot sauce and spoon out the meat. I also put it on salads, make guacamole, burgers and/or sandwich topping, etc.0

I toast a whole wheat english muffin and use half on an avocado to spread like "butter". Then I squeeze a little lime juice and a sprinkle of coarse salt.0
-
I love putting it in salads and on bun-less burgers with all of your favourite condiments.
Also blend it up and put it in your hair as a hair treatment.0
