Welcome to our Cycling thread. If you're reading this hoping for a specific challenge like Do Spin Class 20 Times or Ride 300 miles, then I'm sorry to disappoint. This is a thread to encourage cycling, I'll leave the goals and challenges to each and every person that posts. We welcome any and all riders. Do you ride every day? Do you commute? Do you spin? Are you pulling a trailer? Are you just starting out? Are you a weekend rider? Are you just thinking about how fun it was to ride your bike as a kid? We want all of you. Whatever your goals and whatever your level you are welcome.
As I stated, this is not a specific challenge. You may post distance, time, speed, crashes (that one is for me:ohwell: ), bum soreness (another for me:blushing: ), whatever motivates you to push that pedal.
There is no group to join, no instructions to follow. Just start posting.

4/1 - 2.3 miles.
My personal goal this month is 60 miles. (I ended March with just under 50 miles.)
MTD = 2.3 miles.
Yet to ride = 57.7 miles.
For those who don't know, I'm disabled by illness, pain, and fatigue but I ride as much as I can anyway. Two days ago marks my first year anniversary on MFP. I use MapMyRide.com to keep track of my rides. I use a Walkman with external speakers for motivation. Since I live on the edge of town, my route is half residential and half rural.0 -
After a riding over 1,800 miles last year then followed by a 5 MONTH winter hiatus, I am back and looking to crush 250-300 miles in April. Let's roll !!!

This isn't a TOTAL cycling goal. Next year I'm thinking about doing a duathon. I'm saving up my money for a better bike, but I'm starting the training now. So, my goal is to do two "bricks". That is the term for running and riding on the same day to simulate the duathon. The duathon is 2 mile run/10 mile bike/ 3 mile run. Think I'll start with the 2 mile run and 10 mile bike.0

My goal is to move up in the rankings of my cyclocross races during the Fall / Winter.

Started off with 22.5 miles yesterday. I hope to hit 300 miles this month, but given that I'll have one week less due to work commitments it will be tough.
Side topic, don't you just hate it when your tracking device goofs up (GPS signal loss is one example) and you miss some miles. It's funny how irritating that is when it happens. I guess I have that "Hey, I earned that mile with my sweat!". Anyway, happened to me yesterday and I had to laugh at myself.0 -

I'll take this weather! My ride today was my first this year without any extra clothing--felt great. I also rode within a few feet of a hawk feasting on rabbit--yummy.

I'm back for another month of fun.
On Tuesday, April 1, my wife and I drove to the ride, but I forgot my bag containing my cycling shoes and helmet. Opps!
On Wednesday, I did a quick little ride. The weather was warm and dry and I got to ride a fast bike.

My name is Kimberly, and I'm a little late to the party but I'd like to join in... I usually ride three or four times a week, weather permitting. My goal, such as it is, is to get as many kilometers in as possible before I go to the US for a bikeless summer (unless a broken exercise bike counts?). I generally take advantage of the available "shared use" paths nearby, but am getting more confident about riding on the road as time goes by. I'm lucky that I live in a cycling-friendly area and most drivers (though not all) are aware of how to handle their cars safely around cyclists, so my confidence is growing pretty steadily in that regard.
Anyway, so far in April, I've ridden twice (three times this week, though, including Monday).
On Wednesday I rode 37.6 km in two hours, eighteen minutes. (Which is pretty good for me, especially since the first part of the ride included a long, steady "climb" toward the foothills.)
On Thursday I got 34 km in, in two hours. No climbing this time, just riding on the bike paths outside of town. I was also pleased to reach just over five hundred kilometers total since mid-February on my new bike. (We had a ridiculously mild winter here so I got out and rode as much as I possibly could.)
With a little luck, I'll have enough good weather next week to fit in three or four rides. I'm aiming for at least 40km, and want to do that with some regularity.0 -
EEEEK! Yay! A cycling group - I'd like to join!
I'm a mountain biker but don't have anyone to train with, so I do most of my riding on the road Hoping to get out on the roads tomorrow or Sunday and do a 20-miler.0 -
I'd like to hit 125 miles in April (30ish a week) Since the weather here is still unpredictable, it will be a mix of outdoor and indoor trainer miles.

I just want to ride again, like I did when I was younger. I'd go for a ride to nowhere in particular and just ride for an hour or two.
Unfortunately with kids & family I don't know that it is much of an option unless I do it after the kiddos are asleep. But I do go to spin class pretty regularaly, which should account for something.0 -

Note to self... make sure your phone has enough charge to complete your ride. Same course as yesterday rolled a bit faster though for sure.
