Ellie is back and thin and unmotivated! PICs

Hi! I joined years ago, but I lacked the motivation to keep up, be active, do something. Then it finally hit me, once the doctor told me the only problem I had was my weight. I joined a support group in a clinic, figured out a diet plan I could follow, managed to exercise and bam, 8 months later, I'm nearly done with my goal. Some days have been easier than others, but I could through all those months find this energy that I never knew I had, really.

me right now :)

But now... being so close to an end I'm feeling tired. And some days I feel really close to giving up. Then I look at the mirror, slap my face a couple times to bring me back to my senses and move on. I honestly don't know why it is difficult now to keep motivated, but it is. I feel beautiful, I want to be like this forever, I don't really miss any food I gave up... I love my exercise routine. SO what's wrong?

I started learning ballet for the first time IN LIFE last year, when I was still fat, and with every new tiny move I felt so free and light and delicate. Now the moves are getting harder to execute, my body is getting heavier, not lighter, I still love ballet and honestly ballet is the one thing that makes me feel more beautiful right now. Being on stage to dance feels like a dream every time, even when the rehearsal routine is painful. But it just seems like my goal is taking forever to get accomplished. I'm starting to wonder if I can actually finish it.

First of all, well done! You look fantastic!

Second, I'm not sure how much you've lost, but one thing that keeps me going is that if I only have *this* far to go, I've done that *this* many times already! I'm nearly halfway to my goal, so I KNOW I can do the second half. I was dubious I'd get the first half done!

You're nearly there and you have done this many times over! Hang in there!

Hey, you've made great progress and you'll figure out how to get over your slump. When I don't want to exercise, I make myself do 10 minutes. If I'm still feeling blah, I stop. It's still 10 minutes I wouldn't have done. More often, I find the energy to keep going.

    You will too. :-)

This is pretty much my mindset as well. I've done so much work so far and there is just NO WAY I'm going to let myself get obese again. I think about how I felt at my heaviest, how hard it was to do everything, how unhappy I was at times, etc. Things are much better now!

OP, you have done an amazing thing! Congrats!!!

I'm wondering if part of this mental block is due to the fact that you lost the weight so quickly. A big part of this process is mental and emotional and maybe you're still catching up in that aspect.

Do you mean you feel physically tired or just that you're kind of tired of the diet thing?

Yay for tickers! So, you've lost nearly 100 pounds (which is totally amazing, btw) and you have another 5 or 10 to go at the most (hard to see). You've lost 5 pounds 20 times now and 10 pounds 10 times now. What's one more time? Nothing! You totally have this!!

WOW .. you look awesome! I can't tell why you are having so much trouble with the ballet (especially as you get smaller and lighter). Have you spoken to your instructor? Maybe they can give some advice. Or hey, maybe it's time to move on to a different kind of dance?

in any case..its no secret that having success like you did takes a lot of hard work. And hard work gets tiring! But you said it yourself..you don't want to go back and you are loving the way you look right now.

Don't let something silly get in your way now. Maybe you need to switch up your routine, start a new hobby/goal.

I'm sorry, I have no advice to give. But, I'd be VERY interested to hear from others, who have felt the same way, how they overcame this hurdle. I sort of feel like that ( sometimes ). Like, you're so close, and yet so far?
