Hello, all! I'm a 39 year old mom of an 18 month old, and I can no longer blame my weight on him. :P
I was heavy from middle school through my late 20s, and I got fed up and changed. I followed the lean for life eating plan and dropped 60 lbs. Through my 30s, I was fit, energetic, and even became a fitness instructor for 24 Hour Fitness. Then, at 37, I got pregnant. I gained a normal 30 lbs, slowly, throughout the pregnancy, but NOTHING came off after. Breastfeeding left me exhausted and starving, and the lbs stuck around. Now, I'm just out of shape, 40 lbs higher than my pre-pregnancy weight, and 50 lbs above my goal weight.
I've joined this community to help with focus and accountability, and I'm looking forward to making the necessary changes to help me become the mom I want to be. I'm also hoping to kick off my 40's the same way I did my 30's... healthy and happy!!

Yep, close to the same boat here! Feel free to add me, I'm all about connecting with folks to help make this stick this time! I am 35, with a 4 year old and an 18 month old. Yes, I feel like now, at 18 months, I can officially no longer blame my little girl for my weight. I weigh now what I weighed when I gave birth. I've tried to lose weight in the past, but I am determined to make it stick this time! I realize I am not getting any younger and want to be the fittest I've ever been in my 40s.
Good luck, you're not alone!0 -

Mom to a 22 month old. But since I gave birth at age 40 (now 42), I can't say Fit by 40! I totally get how breastfeeding made you feel. I was also exhausted. I bf until right at 17 months. Plus she never slept through the night until she was over 1!0

Me too, 18month old and 3.5 year old. I'm not worried about turning 40 in 2 years, just tired of not being happy with my weight/shape! I've been on MFP for 7 months now, down 20lb since I started and 25 since decided last Jan (at my heaviest ever) that something had to give. I am 5 weeks in to P90X3, really enjoying it, and just recently started trying to change some eating habits to get over a plateau I seem to have hit. Would love some MFP buddies!0
