    Baby cones.. yup

    Drumstick-
Vanilla custard with thin bits of cone and milk chocolate frozen drizzle mixed in. Not the best drumstick flavor I've had. I prefer something like Americone Dream by B&J. It was ok.

    Bailey's Mocha Truffle-
Chocolate custard with Dogwood espresso (http://www.dogwoodcoffee.com/), Bailey's, and ruffled truffle bark. This was exceptional. It tasted like chocolate coffee with a double shot of Baileys in it. The chocolate mixins were dark and pretty good sized. The baileys made it very smooth. I should have just gotten two of these.

    Note:
After all the exotic flavors I've been having lately, this place is kinda lettin me down. I wish they'd class up and do more costly flavors. I want interesting herbs, marmalades, local cookies, more complexity. They are moving in the right direction by teaming up with a local coffee place and donut shop, but, their vision seems too small. I had to ask what the coffee was. If I had coffee shipped in from Minnesota to make custard in Illinois you'd better ****ing believe it would be on the sign listing the flavor. They're open to suggestions and I'm making a list.

In my opinion, this is more than a pseudo fad diet/cleanse. Learning to enjoy things in moderation is an important step for successful weight loss and/or a healthy relationship with food. While some may just eat mounds of ice cream and fail, others will walk away with more will power and a more optimistic view of their diet. Nuff said

I don't eat ice cream every night, but I am loving this thread for the reviews. I do have some sort of dessert on a daily basis. It is nice to have some input before spending the money. People that eat Jeni's, I am jealous. I have never had it, but I have her cookbook and make ice cream from that and it always turns out great

I don't know if you are interested in ordering online, but they are having a sale today.

    https://www.jenis.com/spring-flash-sale/

I was, because I've been trying to find that sweet potato with scorched marshmallow for over a year now. So I just spent $40 to ship 4 pints of ice cream to my house, which was actually less than buying it at the store! Sweet potato, roasted strawberry, pumpkin and banana + honey. *claps hands and jumps for joy* Thanks for posting that! :jenisicecreamforyou: Oh, and if the nutritional info isn't on the package, they're really nice and will e-mail the information. They did that when I got the goat cheese with cherries and didn't know how to log it.

I doubled up last night. I brought home Breyer's Triple Chocolate Gelato. I couldn't find that Talenti brand at Walmart, but they had Breyer's. Everyone said it was delicious, but my husband commented that it just tasted like ice cream, nothing special. I have to say, that the texture was slightly different, a little softer, but I tend to agree that if it hadn't said "gelato" on the package, then I would not have thought it was anything other than Breyer's ice cream. Breyers has been my favorite grocery store ice cream since the late 80s, and it was good. Has anyone tried Breyer's gelato and found it not as good as other brands of gelato? There is a grocer across from work that has Talenti for $5 for a tiny (and I mean tiny) container of it. Opinions?

How tiny? I think they're sold in pints and half gallons, and then they have the bars that come 3 in a package that I found. I just got a pint on sale for $3.99, but I think the regular price is $4.99, or 4 something. If you were going to spend the money just to try one, my suggestion would be the sea salt caramel.

Mine would be chocolate peanut butter cup. It's creamier than ice cream, imo.

And yeah, $5 for a pint is average for Talenti. We don't have the half gallons here.
I thought Talenti only occurred in nature in pints. That half gallon containers of it even exist delights me to no end. I would say the pricing you found is similar to what I see here--I've seen pints listed as low as $3.29 on sale all the way up to $5.99 in uncommon locations or frou-frou stores.

I've never had the chocolate peanut butter cup, but I can also vouch for the sea salt caramel. Their website has a full break down of the components in their various options. I only mention that because the first time I got the sea salt caramel, I was not expecting the (albeit glorious) caramel truffles, and I was a little put out for a moment (because I hate when plans change). I got over it quickly.

I didn't love that one. It was good, and I did love the truffles. But I would have liked to have had the truffles from that one in the base from Ben&Jerry's Karamel Sutra.

I can get a pint for 2.99 at the commissary but they only have two flavors. Publix is $5 and Walmart is $4

My Walmart doesn't carry anything but Breyer's and their own ice cream. I'll have to ask my mom to check the next time she goes to the commissary and see what they have. The first time I had the sea salt caramel, I just took a spoonful, and it was only gelato, The next time when I had a full serving, I was like OH. MY. YUMMMM! I've never had Karamel Sutra, so I can't compare. I should do something about that!

    Love it man

    +1

I was just viewing another thread where people were talking about having one small piece of dark chocolate for 40 cals. I'm thinking, how is 40 calories all you have to use on dessert? Anyway....I love this thread!
    Yea, 1 square. No thanks.

I wonder how many members read this thread and rage as they eat baby carrots for desert at night.
Well now... that's not really fair. Baby carrots are delicious when you chop them into rounds, simmer them in orange juice with a little ginger, and then cover them in a maple-honey glaze. Rowr.

Baby carrots are good-- I eat them a lot.

However ice cream > baby carrots

    :flowerforyou:
Damn. Maybe I should have said b brussell sprouts instead of carrots.

In B 4 brussell sprout lovers unite.

I LOVE brussels sprouts.
If you didn't love ice cream and gelato so much I might strongly dislike you.

i love all da foodz

    QFT

Well, except for poorly made baked goods. Those just make me sad.

good point. I bought a pack of dollar store brownies once called "Mrs. Freshlys". They are Little Debbie knock offs but not even half as good. it was the most depressing snack i think i have ever had.

If anyone has a Shoprite near them they probably carry Talenti (both of the ones near me do) and they are running a sale starting this Sunday for $2.88 a pint.

Day 1 -Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby (do I get bonus points if I had it as part of a Red Velvet Pop-Tart ice-cream sammich?

    77198d6a-0e67-4856-98a9-607dbe4fb33d_zps565ebc5e.jpg
    - Ben & Jerry's Karamel Sutra (although only about 1/2 serving)
Day 2 - Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream: Sweet Potato with Scorched Marshmallows - 1 1/2 servings
    29f1054c-dc94-4c89-afcf-87e4ed52e876_zpsb7dd1d56.jpg
Day 3 - Haagen Dazs Capuccino Gelato - 2 servings
    721d941a-1126-4fd4-a58f-91eb87029159_zpsf5e8b273.jpg
Update: I kinda ended up eating 3 servings of the HD Cappuccino and a serving of BnJ Chocolate Therapy
    cfbee8b1-7a05-436b-902f-0928485954d5_zpse0d64743.jpg
Day 4 - About 3/4 of a serving each, eaten together of Ben & Jerry's Salted Caramel Core and Three Twins Mocha Difference
    03909295-b2ab-491a-a132-b5ff0bad2f67_zps8f8fb41c.jpg74e2ca7f-9dbb-44ee-9e42-f11521b446d8_zpsb9a65b49.jpg
I may not be done for the night!
Day 5 - So, one for the vegans and lactose intolerant today.. Genuto Chai Latte. This is a really nice non-dairy one. The texture is really rich, smooth and creamy - more like a gelato than an ice-cream and so much better than the coconut or just almond based ice creams. The base is a mix of nuts - cashews, pistachios and almonds - although you cannot taste the nuts. It is a local 'artisan' one and pretty spendy, but worth for the occasional serving. They have other flavors as well, some of which I want to get: http://genuto.com/ I had 1 1/4 servings.
    1e73172c-d76b-45ef-ae9c-084db1774cf7_zps05badabf.jpg
Day 6 - So, after a shopping trip to three stores where I came away with a total haul of 24 pints for a ridiculous amount of money, I decided to try Steve's Craft Ice Cream - Bklyn Blackout which, per the label is "Milk Chocolate Ice Cream Swirled with Chocolate Stout Cake Pieces and Dark Chocolate Pudding". I have to say though, it really was not worth the 280 calories. Very nice smooth chocolaty base, but not too much else going on and I really could not find the mix-ins. Maybe they are the bottom. I have had one of their flavors before and the base is really good, so I am going to try a few more http://shop.stevesicecream.com/collections/all-flavors
    52696e3a-6aab-4f26-8d68-7ae2c4137691_zps5a9ecc5f.jpg
    Day 7 -
So, I bought this, thinking that the 'peanut buttery swirls' was peanut butter...nope, its actual peanuts. I hate peanuts in things (except in peanut butter):
    1ff4f70a-3b5b-41e2-bd98-b0eea811bce9_zps5765e9df.jpg
So, plan B - Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Peppermint Crunch. I have had it before and it's good. A nice chocolate base with minty balls...and who does not like minty balls?
    352408f5-5448-41ac-898b-c94085377f52_zps46e58791.jpg
One serving as its 290 cals.
Day 8 - Decided to jump on the Talenti train and use up one of my tubs. One serving of Talenti Sea Salt Caramel.
    519fa15a-c91a-47ba-9e41-87a67ed866ef_zps67a4d9a5.jpg
Day 9 - Tried a new brand today - Foxy's Pash - Naughty Pash Butter Toffee & Caramel Chunks FroYo - 1 serving. I actually thought it was ice-cream at first - it tasted like it and was really really nice with the small crunchy caramel bits and has decent macros if you are trying to keep fats down (something I find challenging especially on refeed days) - 140 cals a serving with 5g fats and 4g protein
    f615eef5-3fa0-4996-9f30-aa5f07d45727_zps762a8ec6.jpg
Day 10 - Found the Jeni's Brambleberry Crisp over the weekend. This was totally delish. I am not usually a fan of fruity ice-creams, but totally loved this one, so ended up having 2 servings.
    188d79ae-33dc-4a98-96db-2a050801f2d6_zps2e60e900.jpg
Day 11 - Bit of a bleh day on the ice-cream. Tried a new one - Strauss' Brown Sugar Banana. Not very brown sugary and it had kinda crappy chocolate chips in it. Only had about 1/2 serving. Then had 2 servings of Ben & Jerry's Half Baked - while good, was not as good as I remembered.
    0c8d16a6-cd8d-4270-8469-32832877ccd8_zps84d93df3.jpg1bebeacc-e3e5-41bc-9529-c6bfd5498355_zps81808500.jpg
Day 12 - Decided to 'play it safe' with Talenti's Coffee Chocolate Chip - 1 serving and then polished the rest of the Jeni's Boozy Eggnog I had left over from the holidays. - 1 serving
    aa6cee9a-e0e9-4133-a5af-e95dfab105fe_zps5892e06d.jpg5c431663-7dfd-423d-a0d1-8c0cde617e3c_zps17516c9a.jpg
    Day 13 -
    Day 14 -
    Day 15 -
    Day 16 -
    Day 17 -
    Day 18 -
    Day 19 -
    Day 20 -
    Day 21 -
    Day 22 -
    Day 23 -
    Day 24 -
    Day 25 -
    Day 26 -
    Day 27 -
    Day 28 -
    Day 29 -
    Day 30 -

You have me wishing I still had some Turkey Hill Eggnog Ice Cream.

Day 1: hot fudge brownie sundae with Edy's vanilla bean
    Day 2: same
Day 3: Midnight Truffle blizzard from DQ
Day 4: Breyer Tiramisu gelato-- awesome-- will buy again. Not as crazy about the ladyfingers but the mascarpone and espresso are both amazing
Day 5: same-- turns out that either they're wrong about how many servings are in a container or they're wrong about the weight of a serving. *shrug*
Day 6: hot fudge brownie sundae-- last of the brownies.
Day 7: Edy's slow churned french silk
    Day 8: same
Day 9: B&J Salted Caramel Core-- I was hoping this one would be like the caramel side of the Karamel Sutra but I didn't like it as well. I did the core though, it was saltier than the Karamel Sutra. But I don't think I'll get it again. If I want caramel I'll get the other.
Day 10: Edy's slow churned french silk
Day 11: Ben & Jerry's Milk and Cookies-- this may be my new favorite B&J flavor. It was awesome-- perfect amount of cookie, really nice texture. Repeat for sure. I also had 2 servings of Edy's slow churned cookies n cream.
Day 12: Ben & Jerry's Milk and Cookies
    Day 13: Breyers Tiramisu gelato

Awwww Yeah! Two places here have it! TWO! I am DYING to try the coffee one! I swear, if it wasn't after 9 here, I'd hit the store NOW. But alas, that store closes at 9! 20mins., too late. UGH. I've tried a few non-dairy ones and yogurt ones typically don't kill me. The non-dairy ones have just been ok, but don't seem to keep well once opened. Has anyone reviewed any of the non-dairy besides these? Maybe that could be my contribution. LOL I also make my own at home with my Vitamix. Chunky chocolate and cinnamon is one of my faves along with chocolate peanut butter cup and then pistachio.

Day 1 - Haagen-Dazs Caramelized Banana Chip (10/10). Great flavor & creamy texture. Highly recommend if you like banana!
Day 2 - Ciao Bella Pumpkin Sea Salted Caramel (8/10). Flavor is spot on, but it has a pumpkin puree like texture I didn't care for. However, very macro friendly! 190 cals - 9f/24c/3p per serving
Day 3 - Talenti - Toasted Almond (currently consuming). 230 cals - 10f/27c/7/p per serving. Giving this one a 10/10 (I'm biased towards almonds though). Chopped almonds, brown sugar & maple syrup swirl in a sweet cream base. Good mix of salty & sweet. nom nom nom.
Day 4 - Three Twins Butterscotch Pecan - Currently Eating, will edit after consumed. Heavier macros on this one... 230 cals - 15f, 21c/3p. Flavor is really good on this one. Another mix of sweet and salt. However, the texture kinda sucked.... I was expecting it to be much creamier considering the 15g fat per serving. I guess the majority of the fat came from the chopped pecans though. I personally wouldn't waste 60g fat on a whole pint again moving forward. 7.5/10
Day 5 - Maple's Organics Cardamom Ginger - Great macros on this one... 150 cals - 9f/17c/3p. I had my hesitations about this one, but damn... 10/10! Very refreshing flavor, texture was very creamy! Cant beat that, good macros & good flavor. Highly recommend this one! **Just got to near the bottom and there was a huge candied ginger piece, motherofpearl it was yummy!
Day 6 - Talenti - Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip - 230 cals - 13/f/25c/4p. Really nice flavor, very creamy. Tastes just like a Dark Chocolate Raspberry candy bar. Raspberry Gelato with Dark chocolate shavings which provide a nice crunch, but melt in your mouth since they're so thin. I would give it a 9.5/10, but this is because I still can't get that damn cardamom ginger out of my mind.
Day 7 - Talenti - Sicilian Pistachio - 210 cals - 10f/27c/4p. Nice flavor... standard pistachio flavored ice cream base, with chewy pieces of pistachios. Good balance of sweet & salty. I recommend if you have a thing for Pistachios or nut flavored (giggity) ice creams. Stacked up against the Toasted Almond by Talenti, it ranks below it. However, still a solid one overall. 9.5/10.
Day 8 - B&J Red Velvet Cake - 250 cals - 13f/30c/4p. Big red velvet fan here, so my expectations were rather high. Nice red velvet cake batter base with cream cheese swirl. Also has a good amount of red velvet cake piece thrown in for a chewy texture (highlight feature of this IMO). I thought it was good, but not worth the due to the amount of calories for the pint as a whole. My review could also a bit biased since my expectations were rather high but actual taste and such came in below expectations...8.5/10
Day 9 - Ciao Bella Brown Sugar Caramel - 230 cals - 11f/28c/4p. Initially I wasn't too impressed with the flavor from the start, but as I got deeper into it... it did grow on my. I'll be honest my expectations were high for this one but something was a bit off about the flavor. I didn't really get any "brown sugar" taste from it... it tasted more like a coffee with caramel or something of the sort...So much so that I checked the label to see if that was in the ingredients. Oddly enough there was a tapioca syrup in it (not sure if that would explain it). Sorry guys... I know yall were hoping this one would be a winner, but I'm docking points for the WTF flavor factor despite it still being flavorful. 8/10.
Day 10 - Ciao Bella Malted Milk Ball - 240 cals - 13f/28c/4p. This one delivered.... My lord! So creamy and delightful! Imagine a Chocolate Malt Shake ice cream base with crunchy malted milk balls all throughout. It made me reminisce of Halloween as a young kid and getting the malted milk ball treats. The only downside was that is that I finished it and didnt have any left
    :(....Highly recommend this one! 10/10
Day 11 - Ciao Bella Roasted Hazelnut - 230 cals - 12f/20c/4p. This was a fairly unique one.... Very smokey taste it to (uh derrrrrrr) with quite a creamy texture as well. Compared to the other nut themed ones (Talenti Pistachio & Toasted Almond) I think it ranks below it. Also, there no chunks or pieces which made it slightly disappointing. Again, I'm comparing it against the other nut related gelato's I've recently had. I'll give it a 8.5/10, stacking it up against it's nutty brethren. However, if you don't have high standards like me, or you haven't experienced the awesomeness that is Talenti Pistachio, Toasted Almond etc. I'm sure you'll quite enjoy it!
Day 12 - Talenti Double Dark Chocolate - 210 cals - 10f/28c/4p. Nice flavor, very rich dark chocolate flavor. Also nice that it hard crunchy dark chocolate pieces in it for added texture. Pretty standard here.... It was quite delightful, but won't make it into my top 5 since I'm not the hugest chocolate fan. Highly recommend if you're someone who really likes chocolate (JOEHENNY). 9/10.
Day 13 - B&J Peanut Butter Fudge Core - 300 cals - 19f/28c/6p. WOW.... So much going on here! Texture had so many different layers.... creamy base, crunchy peanut butter cups, and chewy peanut butter fudge core. Honestly, this one breaks top 3... if it were a women I'd marry it. If you like chocolate and peanut butter, you need to try this one. Seriously... the only downside was fitting the whole pint into my macros hahaha... not recommended eating a whole pint unless you're having a YOLO day, or you have a very high fat goal (81g for whole pint). 11/10!

mmmm... i should add cookies into my ice cream cleanse once my bulk begins.

ETA: Thx for the Jenis spring sale.. I spent 125 and it woulda been 156 had it not sold out one of the samplers while in my cart

Oh good! Glad to know my back-up plan was acceptable! Mmm... Ginger lemon cookies (made by Carr)! Before that was Costco's white chocolate chunk. Both excellent.

I so want the malted milk ball one and the cardamom ginger. I love ginger. Even ginger beer. I use to get these little chewy candies at Target that were sweet and spicey like candied ginger. Unfortunately, they no longer sell them.

This whole thread makes me so happy and so sad... LACTOSE INTOLERANT!!!!!!!!!!!

you should try to find Steve's ice cream. They have a few non-dairy versions. I've only had one (Cold Brewed Cinnamon Coffee) but it was so creamy i could not believe it was dairy free. delic.....i read a couple of great reviews on the mint cacao chip (which is one of their non-dairy flavors) but i can't find it near me....

anyway, here is their store locator link if you want to check it out:

    http://stevesicecream.com/find-us

I second the Cold Brewed Cinnamon Coffee one - really nice.

Day 1: Talenti Caramel Cookie Crunch- I am kicking myself for not trying this stuff sooner.
Day 2: Talenti Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip- I liked it but the texture was a little more sorbet-like. Did not get the husband seal of approval. I liked that the chips were more like shavings than formed chips, distributed the chocolate more evenly and gave it a nice melty-crunch to the chips.
Day 3: Talenti Caramel Cookie Crunch again- It was just too yummy not to have twice.
Day 4: Talenti German Chocolate Cake- Om nom nom. My first foray into Talenti chocolate and it did not disappoint. Very smooth, sweet but not cloying sweet like you get with some chocolate ice creams. The coconut added a nice texture. The pecans were ok, I actually didn't realize they were pecans until I looked at the label because they didn't have a salty kick. I could have done with more caramel throughout. Maybe it's hiding in the rest of the pint, I'll have to investigate.
Day 5: Talenti Sea Salt Caramel - oh hells yes please. The truffles, the salt, and the caramel flavor was awesome. It rivals my first loves of B&J's Karamel Sutra and Triple Caramel Chunk. I may have to do a blind taste test comparison of the three. I'm sure my husband would assist and blindfold me. For science.

I'm going on a mission this weekend to find some of those B&J's core flavors to add to the roster.

I kinda want to try that one but I heard it wasn't worth the calories. I thought it was 350 per serving.

    300 cals per serv
