I bought this book today because I am looking for something to help my psychological addiction to food, carbs in particular. She recommends supplements and I am wondering what everyone's experience has been.

Why are you considering supplements? I don't have a PhD. behind my name but in my opinion psychological addiction to food is nothing more than learned behavior. We have learned to overeat. We have allowed our minds and body to rely on a false perception that we need more food than necessary for survival. Now, we have to learn the proper way to eat and lose weight. In order to accomplish that, a calorie deficiency is needed. What could supplements do to create a calorie deficiency?0 -
If it is a psychological addiction, what will taking supplements accomplish? I would think therapy would be a better plan.
I benefited greatly from cognitive behavioral therapy when I was having problems with OCD and over eating.0 -
I have been through therapy, but it wasn't much help. This book...I read cover to cover and it inspired me to ask for the help I needed from my doctor. It gave me a platform to say that Im not just an overeater, Im not lazy- I have a REAL problem. Tested this morning for Hashimoto's. I will have some more answers next week.0
