In March 2012, I knew I had a little over a year til I turned 40. I did not want to carry my Binge Eating Disorder and unhealthy habits into my 40s. I set out on a quest to eat cleaner and more intuitively and lost 35 pounds without counting calories. In August 2012, I started exercising again and I have since gotten to be a pretty decent athlete, getting involved with CrossFit, yoga, pole dancing, trail running, hiking, swimming and weightlifting. Walking 5 blocks winded me two years ago but I have since climbed a 9,400 foot mountain, finished a 5K trail run, and attained 215 back squat/225 DL, and 125 bench. I had counted calories my whole life since I was in 2nd grade but since I've loosened up on that, I've had much more success in just being a healthy person. I may not thin but I am strong and flexible and can physically outperform probably 90% of other 41 year old women. I'm balanced and happy! I've lost about 60 pounds but I no longer use the scale. I use fitness performance measures and body fat testing.0 -
These are all great! But I personally dislike the term "Before and After"... If there's anything I learned on this site, is that there is truly no "after" when you're on a fitness journey, because the journey never ends!
So instead, I like seeing everyone's "Before and Now" pics. Keep 'em coming.

from my first joining of MFP to a couple of months ago, i wasn't at my biggest, i was about 2 stone heavier! but this was taken at a wedding in February 2012 and i thought i was skinny at a size 14 when i'm only 5 ft!

First two pics from last summer's holiday, don't know exact weight then but I was 231lb when i started here in November 2013.
During (not after!) pics this weekend. I weigh 197lb - one more pound and I'm 2.5 stone down :-)
Not classic before and after same outfit shots because a) last thing I wanted when I started this was photos b) I wanted to show off my size 16 jeans - my nsv when I had to go downstairs to the regular section of New Look because the plus size pairs were all too big! c) that swimsuit is too baggy now to take a legal photo, lol

All of these pictures are SOOO inspiring!! My profile picture is my latest...the left side is when I restarted the gym and eating healthier on Feb 20, 2014 and the right was one month into it, so around March 20, 2014. Still a big work in progress but hope to have something else a little more updated soon. Thank you guys for all of the inspiration, I sometimes struggle a lot with it0
