How many calories?

Hi! I am 5'6 and 161 pounds. I am pretty active. I just did a calorie calculator that said I should be eating 1,450 t0 1,650- I eat that much and I think I had an off day. So is 1200 really way too little? How many calories are you guys eating? Thanks!!! Oh and feel free to add me, I love new MFP friends!

    My personal goal is 1,700 per day, but I eat anywhere from 1,200-that amount per day. It really depends on my activity level that day, how hungry I am, if I exercised, ect. But I always try to net at minimum 1,200 per day *after* exercise.

    I think that 1,200 as a regular goal is too low for me. Some days I do eat that amount. But I try to make those days far and few, because I tried the 1,200 plan once and I was miserable all the time. I'm much happier, and have seen consistent progress, by doing the .5lb/week and 1,700 per day plan.

    Mine is set to 1320 and I generally gain 400-500 from exercise, most days. I can eat anywhere from 1200 to the full 1820 which includes my "earned" calories. Like missionfitn said it really depends on how hungry I am throughout the day. Some days I can't eat enough to feel full and some days I have to force myself to reach even 1200.     I lose half Ib a week on 1500-1600 net, eating a total of 2200-2600 total.
    At 133Ibs.

    Thanks guys! I went with the settings for 1.5 pounds weekly and it came up at 1390 calories. There are days were it is hard for me to reach 1,200 calorie net, but most days I need atleast 1,300. Thanks again!!
