I work for a financial institution as a fraud/dispute processor. Every day i see disputes against these "magic pills" and all i can think is REALLY! You bought diet pills but did u need that mcdonalds breakfast or the Wendy's for lunch how about olive garden for dinner? And then when i say "I'm sorry we don't have dispute rights" these people get mad and say it didn't even work....... Gee i wonder why! If anyone knows someone who has bought these pills please tell them to beware not only are they buying crap but the subscription starts pulling monthly and financial institutions cannot dispute the items.

Yes but the person can just cancel the direct debit or standing order so the bank won't honour it.

How much of this "crap" are people purchasing that they then contact the frauds team about it?

alot lol MasterCard has a new system that allows reoccurring purchases to move over to the new card so canceling a debit card wont work anymore.

I find your attitude towards your clients to be rather disrespectful. What business is it of yours where they ate? Do you know exactly what they ordered?

I had to eat out for three days while on clinical. I ate fast food. I was smart about it and ate things like salads, veggie burgers, and fruit salads. Oh noes, the mcdonalds.

Good job blaming the victim. Maybe for your next installment you could pillory the folks who fell for the debit card phishing scams.

Umm nope. You would have to cancel the actual DD or SO not a debit card to stop either of these payments.

In the case of "reoccurring purchases" that would be a "continuous payment authority" - Which pre 2009 did have to be cancelled by the company not the individual.

However since then it was amended that people can contact their bank & ask them to cancel them. The difficulty sometimes arises that bank staff were/aren't aware of this so didn't cancel them. But! This is incorrect so if you ask them to cancel it & they don't. Then you can reclaim that money.

Oh btw I don't actually work for a financial institution but this is all (or should be) pretty common knowledge. OP what advice are you giving to your "clients"?
