I was reading the scooby site and I read that a deficit and cardio are how you get rid of belly fat. I really like this site but was wonderibg if this is true. Anyone?

You lose weight by eating at a deficit. Cardio helps create/increase your deficit (plus is good for your overall health).
You can't target belly fat. Fat will come off where it wants to, and unfortunately, the belly fat is often the last to go.0 -
But it will eventually go if you stick to achieving a deficit and doing cardio. My mid section is where all my weight sits. It' just flab. I'm running and cycling 5 times a week and have now started working out with a weighted hula hoop - inches of jelly belly be gone! At least, that's what I've read in reviews and articles.0

They are probably referencing a Duke University study from a couple of years ago. I would be extremely wary of anyone who promotes a single approach as the "best". We have millions of "data points" that suggest that there are a number of different paths that can be effective.0

Cardio is good so is strength training, but eating clean is the best. If your eating cheeseburgers and gummy bears all day you bet an hour of cardio won't do much!0

Cardio burns calories, so as long as you do not eat them back you get rid of fat. I have never heard anyone contradict this.0

A deficit will help you get rid of fat in general, cardio only helps by burning more calories. My belly is the first place where I lost weight but for other people, that area is really stubborn.0
