easy and quick whole food recipes that taste good?

I'd like to try and incorporate more fresh foods into my life, but need some inspiration for super easy and super quick recipes that I can make for dinner during the week that taste good (so my BF will eat it too and not want to order a pizza)? Anyone know of good websites or books? The more brainless the recipe, the better.

My WEAKEST time of day (foodwise) is right when I get home from work... I'm cranky from sitting in a cubicle all day and then sitting in traffic for an hour, and I'm in a hurry to get something ready for dinner so I can do something else with my time (ideally, a workout!). It's during this time that I will cave in and order a pizza or chinese, or stuff myself snacks while I'm waiting for something to finish cooking.

Thanks!

Do you have a crockpot? The food can be ready when you get home! There are a lot of good crockpot recipes right here on MFP, just use the search function.

I make a lot of our meals in the crock pot because I work 2nd and my husband works 1st- by having dinner waiting, he has no excuse yo eat out- which is one of our biggest budget drains. I bring my dinner to work every night. Most nights I have grilled chicken (cooked over the weekend) over salad (bagged from the store). I eat fruit for desert to satisfy the sweet tooth. You could also prechop/ slice your veggies over the weekend and have them separated into baggies/ tupperware so that when you get home, all you have to do is warm up the pan and do a quick sautee.

I used to work with someone that cooked all of the meals for M-F on Sunday and placed them in tupperware in the fridge. Everyday was planned out and just a grab and go situation. She had lunches and dinners premade. This could help if you already have some other recipes that you like that take a little time to prep.

I don't have a crockpot, but that is a great idea. I should look into one! Pre-cutting everything is a great idea too. Maybe I'll make a list of all the simple ideas I can find and then try that next Sunday!
