In March 2012, I knew I had a little over a year til I turned 40. I did not want to carry my Binge Eating Disorder and unhealthy habits into my 40s. I set out on a quest to eat cleaner and more intuitively and lost 35 pounds without counting calories. In August 2012, I started exercising again and I have since gotten to be a pretty decent athlete, getting involved with CrossFit, yoga, pole dancing, trail running, hiking, swimming and weightlifting. Walking 5 blocks winded me two years ago but I have since climbed a 9,400 foot mountain, finished a 5K trail run, and attained 215 back squat/225 DL, and 125 bench. I had counted calories my whole life since I was in 2nd grade but since I've loosened up on that, I've had much more success in just being a healthy person. I may not thin but I am strong and flexible and can physically outperform probably 90% of other 41 year old women. I'm balanced and happy! I've lost about 60 pounds but I no longer use the scale. I use fitness performance measures and body fat testing.

These are all great! But I personally dislike the term "Before and After"... If there's anything I learned on this site, is that there is truly no "after" when you're on a fitness journey, because the journey never ends!

So instead, I like seeing everyone's "Before and Now" pics. Keep 'em coming. :)

Excellent work, if you don't mind me asking, height, and what was your starting weight?
