Clothes looser, but measurements and weight the same

Hi guys,

Feel like I'm being super moody and need some reassurance, if I don't see positive results I'm always in danger of giving up :(

I have done the 30 day shred and definitely feel that my endurance and stamina have improved. I also feel more "sucked in" and that my clothes are fitting more comfortably, but I am still wearing the same size.

I combined this with eating more healthy BUT my measurements are exactly the same as when I felt more podgy and the scales haven't budged a bit.

I understand scales don't mean much because of muscle mass etc, and inches may not be accurately measured, but surely if I feel it there should be some quantifiable change somewhere. Most people doing 30 day shred shed pounds or inches, I just really haven't had that result. I weight 135 pounds and am 5'4".

I really hope that I will see some numerical changes somewhere as evidence my regime is working, as I'm worried that actually I'm not becoming slimmer or I'm doing the wrong sorts of exercises. Kinda feel like giving up cos what's the point if my measurements are the same

Anyone with a similar experience? Any hopeful words like "it's round the corner" or advice would be great!!

Thanks!!!

Because you don't really have much to lose. People who have amazing results are people who have a long way to go. You're already a good weight for your height so to lose weight you would do so quite slowly.

What is your goal? Do you want to look more toned? Have you had your body fat percentage measured? I recommend you aim for lower body fat as opposed to a lower number on the scale. Try some weight lifting. You will lose fat and look more toned. I don't know how you are built so I can't make an accurate judgement but you are a healthy weight.

Thank you for your reply. Yeah so I was worried that maybe I'm doing the wrong sort of exercise, I assumed Jillian Michaels videos would be suitable for my BMI, but yes I'd say I've got a small frame, just untoned and "doughy" :D so although my BMI is healthy it's not optimal or where I want to be.

I haven't had body fat percentage measured as I feel it can be inaccurate and variable. I'm not fussed about "weight" loss but definitely inch loss is what I am aiming for.

I've done the Shred twice and I think Jillian's workouts can be helpful even if you just want to tone up a bit. In fact, that's probably better than actually expecting to drop 20 pounds from the Shred alone and then being disappointed when it's all over.

It may seem a little late now, but have you considered taking before and after photos? Maybe take a "before" photo now and then check your progress later after you've worked more on toning. If your clothes are looser, it sounds like you're doing something right

    Best of luck!

ETA: I've dropped 8 pounds and 4 inches around my waist and I'm still in the same size, for the record.
