Skinny But Fat, please help!!!!

Hi everyone!

I just have a couple basic questions (pretty basic for the most part!) that I was hoping someone could help me out with.
Basically, I'm extremely thin weight wise, considered underweight, but still see myself as "flabby", especially in upper arms, upper thighs, and lower belly, and I know this is what a lot of people refer to as "Skinny Fat". I know I need to put on some weight to be a more normal weight according to my Dr., but even when I weighed more I've only ever been at like a BMI 19 at my highest ever weight and being tall and lanky is just my body type, but I am very prone to "skinny fat".

I don't really eat any junk food or much sugar besides fruit and maybe a small treat once a week, but that's it. Other than that I eat very clean. I don't eat very much though cuz I'm never hungry. I'm also very sedentary at this point.

All that being said, here are my questions:

1.) How can I fix my wobbly, flabby areas without possibly losing weight since that would be extremely unhealthy? I find it so weird how I can be so flabby at such a low weight. For example, I have very skinny arms, but my triceps jiggle when I hold out my arm. Is this normal even in fit people to have the triceps jiggle when you hold out your arm or is that indicating too much excess fat, even though my arms look thin? How can I fix this?

2.) How can I get rid of cellulite? Once again, even though I'm skinny and my thighs are like 18 inches at the, very top, I still have a little cellulite, thankfully not much, but I do wanna get rid of it. What's the best thing to help with that?

I forgot to mention above that I'm a 19 year old female if that helps. Any input on this would be appreciated. Thank you so much!!!

Gurl you have come to the right place! From one skinny, lanky girl to another, it can certainly be accomplished in a healthy way :flowerforyou:

Just a few quick questions that I think folks are going to want to know the answers to to better help you out. What are your current measurements? Weight, height, and such. And could you please open your diary? That will make it much easier for the community to give you a hand.
  • Strength train try doing a workout with light weights. But remember muscle is heavier than fat so don't keep your eye on the scale to much. I use Jillian Michaels's for an example. Hope this helps.

You may see yourself as flabby, but are you really.

BMI of 19, termed as underweight by your doctor, do not eat much..........

What you see in the mirror is not necessarily what is really going on.

This thread makes me very uneasy.

Just because I'm a thin weight on the scale doesn't mean I can't be "flabby" and untoned and out of shape. Just like if you're considered "overweight" you can be lean. BMI has nothing to do with composition I'm pretty sure...

I can understand why the pp is uneasy. Lifting weights (New Rules of Lifting for Women and Starting Strength are both highly recommended) and maybe doing some cardio for fitness are good for general health and fitness. I would focus on that rather than trying to lose fat. Make sure you are eating enough, especially enough protein, to fuel your workouts.
