Well, I've been on this weight loss journey for years. Doing every extreme diet I could think of and I would lose the weight, but then I would always gain it back two-fold. It's wreaked havoc on my body. Last year, I decided I couldn't live like this anymore and I wanted a change. I wanted to feel better, I wanted to look better, and I wanted to do it the right way. I saw my college graduation pictures, and I just couldn't believe how big I was. I was 240lbs and I was slowly creeping back to my max weight of 260+. June 3, 2013 my journey began. I started going to Zumba 5 days a week, but I was lying to myself still. I skipped a lot of days and made excuses on why I didn't go. I had a small goal of losing 10 lbs by my 30th birthday, and when that didn't happen, I couldn't figure out why. Well, yes, I was exercising, but I wasn't counting calories. I kept my same eating habits. On July 17th (my 30th birthday) I said "This is it, I need to do this right or I'm never going to get out of this yo-yo spiral I'm always finding myself in." I started counting calories and my first weigh-in on July 22nd had me down 7lbs! Granted I'm sure it was water weight, but it was just the motivation I needed. I had a renewed determination. I wanted to be down to 200lbs by the time I had my knee surgeries in November, and I wanted to be as active and healthy as possible to quickly recover from my knee surgeries. Fast forward to November 22, 2013 - day of surgery, and I was down to 208 lbs. I didn't quite reach my goal, but I was close, so I was happy. No working out for a month after my surgeries, and I surprisingly maintained my weight, and even lost 5 lbs! (I was terrified that if I didn't continue to work out, I would gain all my weight back). I'm now over halfway to my goal, and only have 18-28lbs to reach my goal (I've given myself a sliding 10lb scale of where I will be happy at), I'm starting SL 5x5 on Tuesday to supplement me in hopefully building muscle and also restarting my C25K program. i hope to run my first 5K on June 28, and don't care how long it takes me, I just want to finish it. I want to reach my goal weight range by my 31st birthday and let my weight loss journey come full circle. So far I have lost 57 lbs, from 240 lbs to 183 lbs. I've lost 4 pant sizes, from a size 18 to a size 10, and I feel and look so much better. The bottom pictures were taken yesterday right after my bootcamp class. I'll probably go back to lurking after this, reading this forum has helped me so much in my journey, and I can't wait to post about reaching my goal!

One step, one day at a time.
I just posted something on FB yesterday...if you don't start today than the change you want/desire for your life will not happen and and you'll still be where you are today. Be the change you want to be...take the first step. You are proof (as am I and all of us here who have taken that first step) just how much truth is in those words.
Congratulations and good job!!! You've got a handle on it and will soon be at your goal weight.
