I listened to an article about a month ago that has really bothered me, it was exercises you should not do. The exercises were situps/crunches because they are bad for your back. Dumbbells, I forget why but this one bothered me the most. Ellipticals, treadmills & stationary bikes all make you gain instead of lose.
I looking for feedback on this Pro and Con!!
If there's any personal trainers on here reading this I would especially love your opinion!!
Thank you!!

I have found that doing the crunches using an exercise ball were best for my back. using dumbbells, according to my dr. was best for "aging" people because it helps build bone...not like the weight machines at the gym.
Not sure why the cardio machines would make you gain! That's a bit baffling!0 -
It all sounds like a load of crap to me.0

My guess (on cardio machines) ......those calorie "guesstimates" are waaay off. People thinking they can have that extra slice of pizza, or whatever.0 -
Not a single thing you read was true.
Crunches and sit-ups are bad for your back if you have crappy form.
Dumbell and barbell exercises are better than weight machines you may use at the gym. Free weight exercises engage multiple muscle groups at once instead of isolating one muscle or group of muscles at a time. A weighted squat, for instance, engages more muscles than the leg press machine would.
Cardio on a machine burns calories just as cardio outside burns calories. If you're moving around, you're burning calories. How exactly would a treadmill magically make you gain weight?
Come on, use that brain.0
