Help with hormonal binges

I'm usually okay with healthy eating- love salads, have doen all my life - BUT twice monthly i get overhwelming cravings for carbs (carbs are used to synthesise seratonin and ovulation and menstruation cause a dip in seratonin) - and it's causing me to gain weight. I was at maintenece but I'm slowly gaining an average of 0.5 lbs per week.
It's not just the cravings but coupled with a feeling like i just don't care either, can't be bothered to cook and so end up buying fast food and junk. I'm sure other women can empathise. So I'm looking for any tips to prevent or lessen the urges. I track my cycle so I am certain that they are related to hormonal inbalence. Exercise helps so a small degree. I'm debating trying starflower oil supplements but i tried them 20 years ago and they made my skin greasy- maybe they might work better now?
Any tips would be gratefully received. (Any men telling me it doesn't exist or to have more willpower are invited to contact me in 12 days time and see the repsonce they get then!

Yup, I do too feel an increase in hunger and cravings in "certain" periods... usually, I start to desire chocolate and fat, red meet. And, also, I really feel that my appetite increase...
Try... potatoes... someone says that those helps. You may boil them, no effort at all, eat them with a pinch of salt and a few oil, and hope that they will really help feeling better.
Or, since feeling bad twice a months is not that goodmaybe you can allow a bit more carbs twice a week, and adjust your diet in the other days... if you are on maintenance, you may be able to lower your calories a bit before your craving periods?

hi im currently at that time of month so certainly feel your pain!!! mine is deffo chocolate i crave really bad!! as for starchy carby foods have you tried the "slim noodles" there only 42calories in 200g! and something like 0.4g carbs!! there is a whole range pasta i tried was disgusting not tried the rice but the noodles are nice if you stir fry them in a sauce and filling as they are made with water they expand in your tummy they do have a strong smell so you have to wash them first but i find them great! x0
