Sports bra suggestions

Any bigger-chested ladies out there have suggestions for sports bras? I am floored that I'm having so much trouble finding one that's my size. I'm around a 42DDD, and I think I'd like an underwire. I even looked on justmysize and ordered 2 bras, but I have very low confidence they'll fit me, since I ordered the largest on the size chart and I'm actually off of the size chart. It makes me feel insane. I'm big, but not THAT big. There are plenty of stores/sites that carry pants and shirts around my size and way bigger than my size, but sports bras my size and bigger are nowhere to be found. Help!

    Very favorite? Title Nine Sports. They have a barbell rating system - the more barbells a bra is given, the greater the support. They also have a filter option by cup size, and an active buyer commenting section for opinionated, active ladies to share their stories of controlling the bounce:

    Panache and Shock Absorber are my faves. Those are some good high-impact bras. They're pricey, though. Panache cup sizes in sports bras run a little big, though. I have had ZERO luck finding an American-made sports bra that fits me, so I prefer the Euro/UK ones.

    ETA: Nordstrom sells the Panache ones - I suggest going to try one on there then actually buying it on Amazon. :smile:

    Try the Enell Sports Bra.It provides firm support and is the best sports bra I have ever used.

    I've had good luck with the Shock Absorber sports bras. The styles I own don't have underwire, but other styles might.

    I started at a 42DDD and am now a 34DD so I can feel your pain. I did not want to spend a crap ton on bras while I was losing so I looked to amazon and found these.

    I like the double layer as it keeps the girls from moving around while moving. No underwire but its not necessary for this bra. Everything stays in place and "up". For under 30, it was a great deal.

    My favorite place to get bras of any sort is herroom.com. They have some pretty cute sports bras there, the majority of which, even the cheaper ones, work better than any other sports bra I've ever tried. They will definitely have your size, trust me. They go up to the 'that exists?!?!?!' sizes.

    You can even find out what will fit but choosing a bra you have that fits (or fits best) and going through their little questionnaire for advice. If you don't have one that fits, get a fitting at a store like Dilliard's and have them show you a bra that fits well, so you can get the right one for you.

    I don't have an underwire one, but I really like the Moving Comfort Fiona. When I got it, I was wearing a 38DD/DDD and it was amazing, I could do jumping jacks for the first time in years.

    The other good thing is that it's been with me through 60 lbs lost and is still wearable, although not quite as nice as it once was (I've finally broken down and ordered another). The shoulder straps are adjustable enough that I was able to make it work for a long time. (while shrinking from 38DDD to 34DDD)

    Panache and Freya are good brands to buy. They are pricey but worth it. I have one of each. I'm a 32F for reference. You can find both these brands on amazon or herroom.com.

    The problem with These 2 stores is that they do not stock all of to sizes available. I like shock absorber and Freya and have them both and they work really well.

    One more tip, you should really get a bra fitting. Just in case. You may not actually be a 42DDD. I thought I was that size or something similar, and when I get sized at an indie lingerie shop they sized me at 36G. It made a huge difference. So just to do a quick check. Get a tape measure, and measure your Underbust (below your boobs). Now if that measurement is about 42 then I am guessing you are in the right neighborhood. If you get something else, that is likely a sign you are totally in the wrong size. Many women are in a band that's too big and a cup that is too small. After, measure the widest part of your bust and subtract. Then you can use the old standby of 1 inch is A etc. it goes up from there. Send me a message and I can point you to a good size converter.

    I wear a 34H roughly at the moment.

    ^^^ definetly - though the tape measure will give you a good ballpark - especially for the underbust, the stores that specialise in the fuller bob, then to recomend a fitting rather than a measuring - there is a fitting guide on hte website i've linked to - but it's best to go into a shop and get help.

    Last time I got fitted, the lady asked me what size i was wearing, looked at the fit of that - dissapeared and came back with 25 different sizes hanging from one hand - we only needed to try 3 - but getting the right fit makes a uge difference - especially in sports bras
