MFP Silliness

you know when you delete somebody or somebody deletes you without any sort of message, but they are still friends with lots of your friends and you see them all over your newsfeed and in the forums and vice-versa... but you don't interact with them EVER again because you don't know why they deleted you or they don't know why you deleted them... so you sort of just pretend they don't exist and/or they just pretend you don't exist from from that day forward? if you've been here for any amount of time, you know what i'm talking about.
i just wanted to say that behavior is silly and i'm not doing it anymore.

I never notice when someone deletes me. I think that makes me a bad friend.0

I rarely delete people because I don't like them. It's usually because we don't interact much. I still like a lot of people that I'm no longer friends with. I just get chop happy with my FL sometimes.0

i never really knew how to act in this situation so i just sort of avoided them to avoid any drama and it seems like that's what others do too, so i thought i should say something here instead of on my wall.0 -

I've had my friend count drop down a few times, not sure who deleted me though, so I have no right to be upset if I don't even remember "who". A few I did notice, but I will act the same regardless, it's not a big deal. :smokin:0

There's very few I've interacted on this site that I've allowed on my FL that I didn't still like after we ceased being friends.0

Nope. I just delete the whole clique.0

I only delete people who either do not log in forever or never talk or do anything.0

So, what are you going to name the elephant in the room?
this wasn't directed at anybody in particular. i know of a couple of people who i deleted who won't talk to me because they don't know why. they shouldn't feel like they have to avoid me to avoid any drama. the reasons i deleted them are probably not as bad as they think. and i've been deleted by people as well. some of them i still think are funny and clever and i'm not bothered that we're not friends anymore, but it does seem silly that i have been avoiding them. so i've been thinking about this for a couple of weeks and how ridiculous it is and figured i couldn't be the only one doing this, so i posted this thought publicly to see if other people also found other MFP behaviors silly.0 -

Happens to me all the time. . I usually dont' realize it until I see them post somewhere then I run and check my list and am shocked. . SHOCKED! . .when they aren't on it anymore. . .
But yeah. . once you realize you've been dumped it's sort of proper etiquette to make no mention of said dumping. .either via forum posts or PMs or other people's feeds I think. .0 -
What if you thought you were on each others friends list, but never were, but you aren't quite sure - so there is that awkwardness always there? :frown:0

You could ask them what was the cause of deletion0
-
Yep...0

I used to delete people more when I was a newbie (on an old profile) because b!tch is a b!tch  . I don't know why I did it honestly other than having trouble keeping up with people and it being too hard to stay on top of them.
I very rarely delete people now unless they haven't logged in for a long time or they stepped over a boundry. Ha, who am I kidding, I don't have boundries.
