I have been on and off this site for awhile...and i have tried to count calories, pop all sorts of diet pills, done wt watchers and i
have not been successful....i have just joined Dr Bernstein...and i know some of you are probably saying it is a bad diet.
but hear me out...it is the only diet that seems to get my wt off...it is a low cal, low carb, low food diet and i think the fact that i have to be accountable to them 3x/week makes it work for me..i dont know why i need to have this much accountability but i do..
.
i feel that once i get to where i feel comfortable ...not where they say i should be that if i can manage my wt with MFP for at least a
year i might be able to do it..
i am asking for support from this group..any ideas to keep the wt off..
anyone want to join me on the journey...i guess i am looking for some support or some ideas or thoughts on the matter..

You lose weight by eating at a deficit. Think not about "going on a diet" but rather on making a permanent lifestyle change.
Once you're approximately 20 lbs. from goal, set your weight loss goal to .5 lb. per week. The smaller deficit will help you transition to maintenance.
Eat "healthy" (whatever that means to you) 80% of the time. Fit yummy, portion-controlled treats into your calorie goal. Deprivation can lead to bingeing.

Hey it can be really hard to make a lifestyle change and wonder if what you're doing will get you results. It can be easy to get derailed too.
I went on the Dr. B diet 2006 and lost 32lbs (147 to 115 lbs). I gained back 5 lbs (sorta). I would hover between 115 to 125 depending on life. I had to make MAJOR lifestyle changes to keep the weight off. I had to exercise and gain muscle after the diet. I also learned to be more social and go out more since I eat when I'm bored and depressed. Overall though, I became a better person.
I kept the weight off until 2009 when I had some drinking binges throughout the summer. Went to 130 then to 120. Stuck around there until 2010 when I went back to lose weight and when to 108. Then I got depressed and went to a l up. ifestyle worse than I had before due to family problems and a really bad break up.
The diet did help me though and I would never change what it has done for me.0
