When I am jogging on the treadmill, my BPM goes from 160-178 and when I'm walking from 150-165 is this bad? I'm not even sure.

This website is going to help. I find it is a little high but i'm not a doctor. That website is a good reputable one.
Hope that helps0 -

It all depends on your age and weight and if you have certain heart problems. Here's a thing:
http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/GettingHealthy/PhysicalActivity/Target-Heart-Rates_UCM_434341_Article.jsp
My resting heart rate is 80-90. My ideal cardio zone is 120-167, and 170 is considered too high for me based on my health conditions, age, and weight.
it's a very personal thing but usually 150-160 is considered good heart rate for cardio, with 170 being on the high end.
I have a friend with a heart condition that causes her resting HR to be 130-140, so obviously even though she's the same age, her BPM goals would be different. Figure out what's best for you but don't push yourself to where you feel out of breath or your chest hurts, because that's never a good thing.0
