How would you know if someone deleted you?
They no longer appear in your FL or News Feed0 -
you know when you delete somebody or somebody deletes you without any sort of message, but they are still friends with lots of your friends and you see them all over your newsfeed and in the forums and vice-versa... but you don't interact with them EVER again because you don't know why they deleted you or they don't know why you deleted them... so you sort of just pretend they don't exist and/or they just pretend you don't exist from from that day forward? if you've been here for any amount of time, you know what i'm talking about.
i just wanted to say that behavior is silly and i'm not doing it anymore.
So you will acknowledge me now?0 -
I tend to only delete people after at least a week of not logging in at all or if they are high drama problem magnets.
I've had a few people delete me who I am almost sure did it because I wasn't an active enough member of their fan club.
Yes we interacted, yes I commented and liked, yes I wrote on their walls, yes I responded to them, but I committed the horrible unforgivable sin of missing a few days here or there. Sorry but I just don't have time to give every last person on my FL tons of personal attention everyday. Meanwhile I am sure these same people have dozens of friends who never interact with them at all, go figure.
I laugh at it... shrug... move on.

This thread has the potential to become really awkward lmao
At least I know the OP isn't talking about me since they never accepted any of my FRs0 -
Happens to me all the time. . I usually dont' realize it until I see them post somewhere then I run and check my list and am shocked. . SHOCKED! . .when they aren't on it anymore. . .
But yeah. . once you realize you've been dumped it's sort of proper etiquette to make no mention of said dumping. .either via forum posts or PMs or other people's feeds I think. .
Have I told you lately that I find you utterly adorable? I promise I'll tell you if I ever cut you.
Cut me AGAIN I think you mean.. . mmm hmmm. . that's right. . I think I may have broken my rule in your case. . :flowerforyou:0 -

Would it be awkward if I sent you something in a PM? Maybe a kitty?0 -
I guess if I'm that concerned about it, I ask.
*shrug*
Seems simple enuff.0 -
My TMI had a new friend instant delete me yesterday. Hahahahha
I love TMI. You can share with me.
Most of the time I can't figure out who deleted me, but it's usually because of a deactivation. I only ignore one member in all of MFP land. Just one!0 -

go re-read the OP. this thread is not about deletions. it's about that awkwardness after deletions where people don't know how to act around their ex-friends, so they pretend they don't exist and avoid any future interaction with them. that's what's silly.0 -

Well I have had ex-friends be downright nasty to me because I tried to engage them after the friendship ended. I took the hint!0 -
Good news is one knows me IRL, so if they delete me...meh.0

^^ I hear what you're saying and I know exactly what you mean. Yep, been there, done that. I try to still interact on friend's feeds with that person, but they don't reciprocate so I just shrug my shoulders and move on. It is silly - we're all adults here, right?0 -

Yes... reading comprehension is something I possess... and of course my latest post that you quoted specifically speaks to that awkwardness.
As for the rest of what I said not 100% being exactly and exclusively a response to your OP, well this is a conversation involving more people than just you exchanging more ideas than just yours.
Everything I said was on topic and relevant to the conversation taking place... of course since it's your thread feel free to quote everyone else before and after me who talked about deletions in general without directly addressing the awkwardness aspect, or just focus on me if that makes you happy :flowerforyou:0 -
In to hear all the awkward stories.
I had a friend on my FL who deleted her account and reactivated under another account, then re-friended many common friends in common...but not me. Oh well.0 -
I just clicked quote because I wanted to like a post.
never change, MFP!0 -
i usually delete people who are sick every single day. Let's be honest, PMS isn't everyday. If you have a headache every day...If your tummy hurts every day... Get your butt to a doctor! I don't want to see it day after day on my newsfeed. I get sometimes people don't feel well, I get that. It's the ones that every single day have a health issue.
I delete drama people too. Life is to short to hear about baby daddy issues or the girlfriends date who isn't even here to tell how things really went. If I wanted all that, I would visit Facebook more.
And these types of people never notice they've been deleted. :-)
A lot of those people undereat.0 -

As silly as a *kitten*' *kitten* pic.
*an *kitten*...
also, *shots fired*
*an *kitten*' *kitten* pic
or *an *kitten*'s *kitten* pic
As far as the topic at hand, I don't watch my friend list number to know if I've been deleted or not. I interact with some enough that I would notice, others, not so much.0 -

It has happened on facebook a few times. Long time friends have deleted me with no explanation. I usually only delete people I added to play games, who no longer play.0 -
Eh, doesn't bother me. I still talk to them if the conversation is relevant hehe.0
