Countertop scale - recommendations?

I am thinking of getting a scale for weighing food. Not going to go too anal over it though, so prefer an economic option that does not take up too much space.

Recommendations?

    The glass top is a really nice feature because you can easily remove and was it when you get food particles on it.

    It's also got an 8lb capacity so you can tare your plate on it, add the food and not exceed the weight limit.

    Just search for them over amazon.com. There are tons of decent ones for reasonable prices. Don't get one that measures real high weights b/c they aren't as accurate for lower weights.

    I got an EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale. It's very accurate and works well. However it feels fairly cheap, so I'm not sure how long it'll last.

    I just use the Oxo kitchen scale I got from Bed Bath & Beyond. It is awesome.

    It's designed to be economic, not take up too much space on the counter. It's similar in design to Wal-Mart's Mainstay one, a little pricier, but I refuse to shop at Wal-Mart.

    I also know that Escali has a scale coming out specifically for people weighing for fitness that synchs with a mobile app on your phone and auto-logs your intake. I don't know if it's available yet, but it looks pretty nifty.

    I bought a slimline black one from Walmart for about $20. It doesn't have raised buttons so it wipes clean easily, It switches between lbs/ounces and grams, and can measure milk or water in mL. It even has a little hole in the back so it could be hung on the wall between uses.

    I *love* using a food scale! I have some Pyrex storage containers and usually weigh and pack up my meals for day (I eat 5x/day) and have them ready to take to work, school, or with me to run errands.

    These are great!! I want one - and the site as well. I share your sentiments about Walmart but have few options out here in rural PA. But now... May have found my new money pit! lol
