Calorie Free Winter Festivities

So... one of my main problem is that it seems that everyone wants to have social get togethers that revolve around food... which leaves me not only eating more than I want, but taking in way worse foods for me and eating late, or or unnecessary snacks... ie a 400 calorie trip to Starbucks to be polite and see a friend.

In the summer it is easier, we can go for a walk or to a park... but we are kind of limited in the winter... any suggestions for some zero calorie social events? With possibly throwing in some moderate exercise too?

Still do the walk part think of the calories burnt when walking in the cold weather. Then no guilt when u have a Starbucks or that nice little buffet treat.

Have a board game marathon...just limit the snacks to things like air popped popcorn, cheese and crackers, maybe some hot chocolate.
Go play outside...even if it is cold...just bundle up.
Take a drive at night and look at all the lights that have been put up.

can you make light choices when you do socialize? Like instead of the 400 calorie drink, get a green or peppermint tea. Instead of grabbing the cake, pick up carrots, etc. I know it's hard but we gotta do it!
And, let your friends in on what you are trying to accomplish. Hopefully they will be supportive and not say let's go out for ice cream. And if they do wnat ice cream, you choose frozen yogurt instead. And if you know you will not be able to control it, eat light throughout the day to save up and exercise. Good luck, I know how you feel!!!!

I defiantly recommend the looking at lights. We had so much fun doing that tonight. Get a non-fat latte and no whipped cream to cut the Starbucks calories. The board game marathon sounds fun too. Good luck!
