Eating less but weight stays same.

Yea, yea, I've only ate less for 1 day and all that, but the caloric deficit was significant, about 1500-2000 calories less than I usually consume. Shouldn't there be atlest a tiny bit decrease? Even half pound...that really demotivates me..

There may have been - but many factors have a temporary effect on your weight, so looking for trends over time is the only reliable solution. Sodium, stress, hormones, sleep, when you eat/drink, etc. etc. etc.0

1 day post and Demotivated.. Oh Boy!0

Ya ate, you think, 1500-2000 less than what you usually do.
Um....that doesnt really mean much becuase "usually do" very well may mean over your needed intake to maintain. People can eat less than they usually do and stll gain weight...it goes by how much you intake and how much you burn,
Weight loss isnt an instant result. Very well could still have what you ate the day before working itself through, many issues.
I am not sure why you would even bother weighing yourself in after just one day.0 -
Well I can eat 3000 cals a day and not gain a pound...and here I drop to half of it and still same, what's the point of restriction if it doesn't change anything...0

Did you actually weigh the food you ate on a food scale or are you just going by the "eye-balling it" measurement?0

Don't feed em.. they just multiply0

Uh.... weight loss is not linear.... eating food is not linear... it takes days for your body to release what it didn't get/ get.... your body can't tell time...0

I think you're one of those people who needs to eat MORE to lose weight. Try upping to 4,000 or 5,000 calories for a few weeks and see if the pounds come off.
No, that doesn't make any sense. But neither does complaining that you didn't lose weight after one day.0 -
First off, it is just one day.
Second, you said you ate 1500-2000 less than you normall do. That is a big swing and tells me that you dont ahve a good grasp of actually how much you ate.
Third, if you were doing things right you should have been drinking more water as well. That can stick with you a little bit as well.
Fourth, even if you ate at a deficit for that one day it isnt like your body instantly burned that fat by the time you weighed in.
Fifth, the body flucates often. Who knows, when you first weighed in maybe not much food was in your system, or a little less water weight. It changes often. Just as one person says/think they lost 3 pounds in one day......that usually doesnt happen but depedning when they weighed themselves it could look like that on a scale
Weight loss isnt an instant end sum game.0 -
yeah..I think I have been the victim of someone playing aj oke on here, but just in case I wasnt or someone else reading it and doesnt know the dynamics at least they can take something from it.0

Look for your instant gratification elsewhere, you won't find it in weight loss. :flowerforyou:0

It's been 1 day.
If you want instant results, then I suggest you get lipo.0 -

Really? One day? No, you will not see results in one day. And, if you are eating 1500 - 2000 calories less than you usually consume, that could mean you are consuming anywhere from 0 to 10,000 calories a day.
If you have not already, set your goals up in MFP and eat that amount plus you exercise calories (but only a portion if you get estimates from MFP or machines or a phone app.0 -
AM I saying I am expecting some freaking pounds off? I am just wondering whyyy it didn't even shift down by a gram...
And yes, I weigh food!
For crying out loud, don't make snap assumptions and be a bit more polite! It's a question, no need to be rude and sarcastic.
I am well aware about calories and all that, not new to it. I eat usually, with the same activity, 2500-3500, sometimes less sometimes more and yet weight stays same. Now I am at 1370(set by MFP) .
Holy crap, didn't know this site is full of rude people that just assume and don't care about details.

Because weight loss takes more than a day. Even if it's a gram.0 -
That's just not how weight loss works. Looking day by day will drive you insane (looks like it is already doing so). I can gain or lose several POUNDS just by what I have just eaten or whether I have gone to the bathroom or not. Expecting to be able to track your weight overnight with any sort of accuracy is not even a little bit realistic and people are just pointing that out to you.0

Weight fluctuates on a daily basis, especially for females. Look at weekly trends, not daily trends.0
