Curried cauliflower is good. Curry masks the taste of anything. You can find it in Indian restaurants and I am sure the recipes are available on the internet.
(Disclaimer: I do love the taste of cauliflower myself, and I just boil it slightly in water then chop it and fry on a skillet in a little bit of butter. maybe your kids will like it. Delish and low cal)0 -
Cauliflower mashed potatoes - Cook cauliflower until is is really soft and mash it like potatoes with your favorite seasonings.
Looks and tastes like mashed potatoes.
Also; I have used cooked cauliflower to make breadsticks.
Google cauliflower recipes and you will find many uses for substituting cauliflower to make healthy meals.0 -
Grate it raw to use in place of rice than cook it in microwave.0

This is the recipe I use for mashed cauliflower: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/mock-garlic-mashed-potatoes-recipe.html
You can do it in the microwave too. Here is how I did it: http://soupspiceeverythingnice.blogspot.com/2014/02/microwave-garlic-mashed-cauliflower.html
This is a great soup too: http://soupspiceeverythingnice.blogspot.com/2012/12/cauliflower-leek-soup.html
Also my mother and grandmother always boiled the entire head in salted water. When tender they would drain it and put one or two slices of american cheese over it and put the lid back on so the cheese would melt.0 -
I actually enjoy mashed cauliflower, though, don't think it is a substitute for mashed potatoes. It is good in it's own right.
Roasted cauliflower is really good as well. Sprinkle a bit of bread crumbs mixed with freshly grated parmesan on it near the end and broil for a nice crunchy texture.0 -
Cauliflower pizza crust! Seriously amazing. My boyfriend absolutely hates cauliflower but ate an entire pizza to himself. I found it on Pinterest.0

Thanks everyone! Im going to try all of these over time! I have decided to try mashed cauliflower tonight and hope for the best!0

Mashed cauliflower does NOT taste like mashed potatoes. It tastes like cauliflower. Personally, I love it and could eat a whole head this way (I just add some cream cheese), but people who say it tastes like mashed potatoes must have no idea what potatoes taste like.. or something.
If you don't like cauliflower, just don't have any. You've been warned0 -

can we just stop with the cauliflower pizza nonsense…?0 -
I like mashed cauliflower, too. But I hate the taste of it raw. I season it with garlic and the littlest bit of butter and pepper. It's pretty yummy, but I prefer broccoli any day.0

cauliflower rice, cauliflower pizza crust, cauliflower cheesy bread, cauliflower potatoes, raw cauliflower soup, you can even bake it with some curry...
sooooo many options!0 -

it just so happens that i spent a good amount of time searching for cauliflower recipes myself today and i found A LOT that sound amazing and i want to try. most of them are super healthy too (in the sense of no cheese/not much fat), with a few exceptions.
disclaimer: they are all vegan, because i only searched for vegan recipes.

I love it Roasted, cut it into bite size pieces, spray with olive oil spray sprinkle with salt and pepper broil till Brown. Yummy! We also like roasted green beans, asparagus, potatoes, sweet potatoes. Cabbage. Cook @ 400 till almost done then broil to get some color.0
-
Try it roasted with a little olive oil salt/pepper. Super yum!0

I've always liked cauliflower but just recently started doing the mashed thing. Very tasty and unexpectedly filling.
However, a heads up that too much cauliflower is supposed to block the absorption of iodine by the thyroid, which is not good for anyone, but especially a growing child. I only use sea salt so I'm aware that there isn't enough iodine in my diet already, so like most things - I only eat cauliflower in moderation, or if I do get too gung ho, will make sure to add other sources of iodine to my diet.0 -
One of the best and healthy things I have made with cauliflower. You mash up the cauliflower and then take a potato and mash the cauliflower in with it and put a little bit of Parmesan cheese in it and cook it in the oven. It is amazing! I never liked cauliflower until I made it this way. You use a lot more cauliflower then the potatoes so it is healthier!0
-
NOT mashed cauliflower - it's just OK, not yum!
NOT cauliflower pizza crust - it looks like it'll be god but blah - it gets squishy and you have to east it with a fork. Nope.
Break up the cauliflower head into small pieces, like 1/2-in - 1-in big. Toss in 1T EVOO, sprinkle w/ kosher/sea salt, sprinkle w/ pepper, sprinkle w/garlic powder, sprinkle w/ paprika - stir it up. spread it out on baking sheet and roast it in the oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, stir it around and roast for another 15 minutes. Delicious.
My kids like to dip it raw in ranch or blue cheese dressing.0 -
Roasting it is my favorite! I toss it with a ranch packet before I roast it. Good stuff!0

Whats wrong with caulifolwer pizza?0

i havent tried this but it sounds interesting:

Whats wrong with caulifolwer pizza?
Nothing - I just didn't like the texture , flavor was fine. I prefer to pick my pizza up not eat it with a fork. I'd rather use a flat bread to make pizza on (90 cals + toppings) than the cauliflower crust0 -
My family also loves it roasted. After it's roasted, I toss it with a little balsamic vinegar, top it with Parmesan cheese and put it back in the oven for 10 minutes. A friend asked me if the leftovers tasted as good, and I told her I have no idea because we never have any. My hubby and daughter fight for the last bites!0
-
There is obviously something wrong with your children, and you should take them to the doctor.
I'm not a cauliflower fan (obviously), but I have had it deep fried, which was delicious (no coating, just fried). Perhaps roasting so that it gets a good canalization will be ok, but I haven't been willing to try that yet.0 -
Don't mask it, roast it. Toss chunks of it in oil and spices, spread on a baking sheet and roast in a hot oven until it starts to carmelize.
But, if you must mask it, mash it and smother it with mushroom sauce. Steam, nuke or boil it, and mash as you would potatoes. Mix in a potato if you want it to taste more like mashed potatos0 -
well your 2 year old probably wont like it but i love it. google cauliflower buffalo bites. MMMMMMMMMMMM0
-
Leave the head of cauliflower whole, just cut out the core. Wrap cauliflower in plastic wrap, poke a few holes in wrap, stick head in microwave for 10 to 15 minutes until done. Check that is is soft by sticking a fork or knife in it. (i usually cook my cauliflower upside down for 1/2 the time then flip it right side up. seems to cook better this way)
Take plastic wrap off head of cauliflower and put it right side up on a plate.
Mix together 1/4 to 1/2 cup mayo with 2 or 3 T prepared mustard (or to your taste). Spread the mixture all over the head of cauliflower, stick it back in the microwave for about 90 seconds to 2 minutes.
Cut cauliflower head up and serve.0 -
I boil the cauliflower, mash it. Add one egg, breadcrumbs, red onion, pepper and a bit of cheese. Form patties and fry in some coconut oil for 3 mins a side.0
-
Roast at 375 for 30 minutes or so. Half a head of cauliflower with 1/4 cup parm cheese some salt and pepper and 1/8 of a cup of olive oil. Delicious. The outside gets all crispy and delightful!0
