Hi! I've always wanted to start strength training in my routine, but I can't afford a gym or afford to buy weights. I've done body weight exercises for a long time but I want suggestions for things I can do at home for strength training.
And are there any links that people can provide for workout routines and the like? It would be really helpful!

I highly doubt you can't afford jugs of water or things that are heavy.0

Fitness blender workout are really good. And if you can find some bottles and fill them up with water, That is a great substitute dumbell. Especially frozen. This is a little crazy but if you want to try kettlebell, Maybe a water jug. Good luck:)0

I second fitnessblender. I'm a fitnessblender junkie. lol
And water jugs are a great ideal and if you have a backpack, can load it with books, cans, rocks, etc as well.0 -
Thank you guys! I'll ask my family to save the empty milk jugs so I can use them for weights. And find new body weight exercise.0

There are a lot of basic strength training moves you can do with just your body weight. As others have mentioned, household items like milk or water jugs, large cans, or heavy books can work in a pinch, too.0

What specific body weight exercises are recommended, though? Besides squats. Everyone recommends squats.0

Many pushup variations. Dips. Pullups. Chinups. Sprints. Burpees. Squats.
You can get a hell of a workout in without weights if you really want to.0 -

What /\ said! Fitness Blender is free, it's great and has workouts that are from 5 minutes long to over an hour. You can find something to fit your schedule no matter what you have for time.0
