Strength Training advice

I want to start strength training but I have no idea where to began or what to do. Does anyone know any good websites or online tips for help

Strong Lifts is a good program, and available online. You can google it. Also look for videos that show correct form, or get a few sessions with a personal trainer. Practice first with very low weight (ie a pvc pipe instead of bar) to get your form down. It's worth the time so that you can avoid injury and work what you're trying to work!0

If this is your first time doing weights, i would definitely suggest Stronglifts. For basic info, just search the google. However, be careful to get some help regarding form (i.e., maybe hire a trainer for a month's worth of sessions), because some of those lifts can hurt you if you don't do them properly.

But none the less true! The hardest battle (and easiest win) is getting the routine and just doing something - keep it up! Results aren't instant, and to be honest you want to earn the results, it's called pride for a reason!
My only bit of original advice would be don't sacrifice form over anything else. Don't go to heavy too soon - get the form right and everything else will follow. bad form= injury and you could just be wasting your time! Exercise smarter, not harder!0 -

At first sounds smarty pants, but the bottom line is someone saying this to me is what got me going! I said I had no equipment, they said do a squat, a push up, a lunge, a plank.
Of course it was more helpful when they gave me the advice above too. :laugh: The books are great
But really, the beginning is the hardest. Pick up something heavy, and put it down.
There are some awesome groups on here that are very helpful. Good people. Get some support and you will do great!0 -
