The struggle of finding good quality causual shirts...

Buying new cloths is something we all look forward to. Summer is coming, and I just want some basic "athletic" t -shirts I can wear casually. The only logo's I am willing to wear are UConn or Mets (I don't like to be a walking billboard for massive corporations). Looking around for basic, plain t-shirts has become the most frustrating thing ever. Champion now produces thin almost plastic feeling shirts. Russell has this strange elastic feel to it and it clings to my torso like a damn condom would. Both shrink about 100 sizes after one wash. Buying anything from Walmart leads to the product fraying and falling apart in the wash. Quality control is an absolute joke now to companies. Everything produced is thinner than tissue paper and shrinks and falls apart in a week. I hate spending $20 on just one ****ing t-shirt, but it looks like I have to resort to the standard plain Nike shirt with the small logo on the top left of the chest for $17.99.
Even about 5 years ago I used to be able to buy a good quality $7-8 dollar shirt. Now anything in that price range is complete trash. I don't mind spending money for quality, but quality shouldn't start at $20.
Just saying...

I do feel you on this one. I don't like having alcohol advertised on my hats or shirts and -generally- stay away from shirts with witty sayings.0

I like Kohl's for inexpensive knock around plain shirts0

Do you have a nike store in your area? I've found some decent, well made shirts from them. Otherwise, sporting goods stores generally have good sales if you watch for them.0

My fiance is always complaining about thin shirts -- he loves the Gildan Tshirts. http://gildanonline.com/0

This is what my friend said too. You're suggestion supports that. I'll try Gildan out.0
