Overestimating and underestimating calories

I have a feeling that I overestimate calories unless they are written on the package. Like for example if I eat cheese and eggs and some bread, I don't know how much cheese I ate. Because cheese is fattening, I may over estimate. Also a meal cooked in butter can be really high in calories and I end up underestimating. It's just frustrating at times. Does anyone else have this problem?

I've heard people talking about a food scale on here before, I will look into that.

Buy a food scale, use other people entries for the cheese if there are no calories on it.

I use the rule of three. As in weigh and measure. Weigh and measure. Weigh and measure.

Even packaged food can weigh more than the label says. Weigh everything.

Not since I got a food scale. It's extremely helpful. I weigh everything.

agreed with the food scale comments, i was underestimating my calories by a lot before i owned one. especially trying to measure nonliquids with measuring cups it just doesn't work. either way i accept that i probably overestimate or underestimate everyday because the numbers are sometimes just estimates but meh
