Stuffed up diet - help!

So today I'm back for the first time in a while. I kind of got lazy and I'm going back to healthy eating and exercise. I had sushi for lunch and didn't realise that two rolls of sushi was 600 calories - yikes! Now I'm so pissed because I'd been going strong for about 24 hours (no judging). Even worse, I'm in Australia right now with only hotel food and 400 calories left for the entire. F*cking. Day. It's only 2:30! Just kill me, I'm so upset... Ugh.

a) a 600 cal lunch is hardly a stuff up
b) one day isn't going to "stuff up" your diet
c) if you're that worried, go earn some more calories. Does the hotel have a gym?0 -
Uhm, a lot of the times I eat about 750 calories for breakfast alone.
Unsure what you're complaining about o.o
Work out.. Get more calories to eat! Simple :flowerforyou:0 -

If you picked two sushi rolls that totaled only 600 be thankful, a lot of sushi rolls are over 500 each, so good job!
Also a 600 calorie lunch isn't that much. I often have 600 calorie lunches and they fit into my 1600 calorie day no problem and I usually eat 5-6 times a day. If you do need some extra room go for a walk.0 -
What? i eat 2000 calories per meal!!! All you have to do is watch your calories. Watch them as they fly into your mouth.0

What's the problem? Chicken salad no dressing for dinner and you should still have enough cals for a glass of wine. Aussie hotel food isn't that bad!
FWIW a 600cal lunch isn't that bad. Just turn lunch and dinner around. If you had 600cals worth of sushi at lunch then you really should only want a light dinner.
EDIT: out of curiosity...were they hand rolls (about the size of your palm) or full on rolls the size of two hand spans. Full on rolls two palm sizes would be about 300ish cals each, but hand rolls like from sushi sushi are around 170-180 cals each in the land of Oz.0 -
I learned a new term today and will add it to my American lexicon, stuffed up.
I don't think this was a good use of it as far as context is concerned.
I think this would be better:
That smoothie I drank, well I found out it was composed 100% of lard. It was around 5000 calories. Then I had a dinner with a salad and then I found out that the dressing was made with 100% whale blubber. This really stuffed up not only my weight loss goals but also my pledge to consume whale products!0 -
1. 600 calories for a meal is not bad.
2. This is the problem with the "I'm on a diet" mentality. Make it a true lifestyle change and you can't stuff it up. One meal can't ruin your progress, one day can't ruin your progress, hey even one week can't. If this is really a lifestyle change, you just continue on as normal making progress. If someone overeats every day, gradually gaining fat, would one day of undereating, or one day of eating salad suddenly make them healthy and slim? Sometimes you will eat things you didn't plan to eat. Sometimes you will plan to eat things that make you exceed your goal. It doesn't mean you've failed, it's just life. Make healthy (whatever that means to you) choices most of the time, and you'll be on the right track. The only way this can have stuffed things up is if you now think "of I've failed, this is too had, I'm not going to bother any more".0 -
Have a healthy dinner, lots of veg and a bunch of water.
A 6" ham & salad subway is about 300 cals I think - put dinner in perspective for you if you have to eat out. I'm in Australia too, so I know lots of hotels have a 'steak n chips' or lasagna & chips kinda menu.
Small steak & veg would be ok, something like that. It's all I can think of, so sorry if you're a veggo!0 -
