How do I edit recipe ingredients?
Hello, MFP community
I love the recipe calculator, but sometimes, I make small variations. So far, I have yet to find a way to easily amounts of edit ingredients. So far, I just have to delete the old entry and search for the same item, but enter a new amount. Is there a more efficient way?
Thanks,
Bird428

Yep it's a pain if ya change up a recipe. I haven't found a way to change the amount of an ingredient w/o deleting it & adding in with the new value.
Maybe someone will come along with a trick (other than saving recipes in versions, which I also do!)0 -
That's a major shortcoming. My guess is that MFP is working on it, but in the meantime, if you add your recipes as "meals," you can tweak quantities and ingredients.0

Good to know. It's not just me. Thanks for the replies0

You can do it from the phone app, but not from the web. It's a real annoyance that I keep hoping they'll fix but so far that's the only way to do it.0

Is this being fixed so we can edit recipes from the app?0

Can someone from the MFP staff please let us know how to do this or give us an update on where this improvement stands? I will try to build my recipes using the "My Meals" option since that seems you can edit quantities of ingredient... but then what's the point of having a recipe builder? :grumble:0

Building a recipe from the "My Meals" option does NOT provide a suitable solution. Way too cumbersome and inability to change serving size. Total fail on that workaround.0 -
Yeah it's the worst pain in the butt. Frankly sometimes I just don't bother, it's 'close enough'.0

You can do it in the app. Go to Settings>Edit Foods and Exercises>Recipes
You just can't do it on the web.0
