Let's get that nasty phantom taste of bad booze out of our mouths and spin-off from our worst liquor post.

What is the best brand of your favorite kind of liquor?

OR

What's the best cocktail you've ever had, and where did you have it? If you make your own best cocktails ever, good for you, but what's the best outside of your own home?

OR...both :)

My favorite liquor is añejo tequila. Favorite brand is Cazadores.

Best drink I've ever been served was and Old Fashioned, oddly enough, in the Rx Boiler Room in Mandalay Bay, Vegas. Very unexpected.

Wine I cannot afford. At a fancy restaurant I cannot afford either. Now that I'm older I really can't tolerate alcohol anyway so it's not a huge loss.

To say best ever I am not so sure... but one that stands out to me the most in my memory was being in Prague back in 2001. The bartender suggest we try some absinthe... I do not remember how many shots I eventually had, but when I woke up at noon the next day still drunk trying to catch my train I knew I found some serious stuff!

Best liquor I've ever had was Firelit (coffee) brandy from St. George Spirits up here in NorCal. It was limited edition but so freakin' yummy. Good standalone over ice, mixed into a white russian, or combo'd with Guinness for a really decadent beverage.

A good 2nd on coffee liquor is Van Gogh Espresso vodka over ice. It's clear which is a bit of a mindf*ck -- tastes exactly like slightly sweetened iced coffee.

As far as mixed drinks, "surprise me" in Clarksburg, WV. I have no idea what went into this thing (other than vodka), but it tastes like strawberry Starburst. The bartender that made it doesn't work there anymore, so I'll never find out how to make it myself.

2nd best was a candied apple gin martini at the Hilton Inn in Pittsburgh, PA.

EDIT: I forgot... a local distillery around here makes Apple Pie Moonshine. It is utter nirvana.
