I'm 35, 6'3 and now weight in at 262lbs. For me, weight was never a problem until the past 5-7 years (working in a sedentary job) as I have been adding about 10lbs a year bringing me to a high point of 277lbs. I was at 273.5lbs when I started using MFP 28 days ago (28 diary streak!). I'm very proud of the 11lbs I've lost so far. The first 2 weeks I was surprised at how low my loss was (2lbs a week) but its a number I am comfortable with. My goal weight is 220lbs. I have found tracking my food intake to be instrumental in this journey and adjusting what I ear. I am not doing any specific diet, just a healthy one with lots of veggies and protein and pretty much avoiding anything manufactured. I also joined my local Y and get in at least 3 workouts a week; swimming has been the main exercise and just introduced some free weights last week. When I don't get out to the gym I take the dog for a 30-60 minute walk. I am limited in what I can do due to bad shoulder (surgery consult in 2 weeks and a knee that despises any impact)
As part of this journey I have temporarily given up beer/liquor for the past 5 weeks and hope to keep in going for a while yet. Really enjoying see's the success stories and cant wait to be part of that club. Its funny as I go out for lunch or socialize, people notice my habits have changed and ask "are YOU on a diet". When I tell them what my high point for weight was, no body believes me (the height hides a lot I guess).

not drinking was a total win/win for me, too. no liquid calories and i wanted to work out the next day versus laying in bed sick. keep it up!0 -
Thanks, and yes, the don't drink your calories applies here too, just water except my breakfast smoothies.0
