Fitbit logging question

I am sure this has been asked before but I can't find it off hand.......
I have a fitbit one and it is linked to myfitnesspal, so I went for a walk this morning and my fitbit logged my steps and miles and calories, then I thought I should ad my exercise to myfitnesspal, is that wrong? Am I double dipping at this point? Because my fitbit didn't give me any calories back for my exercise, will it eventually catch up at the end of the day after I burn more? I don't want to wait until tonight to eat back any calories I should.

You don't need to log walking because that is what FitBit is designed to track. If you were to do an exercise that FitBit doesn't track well then you might want to log it and as long as you log the start and end time FitBit will adjust accordingly.
Also FitBit only gives an adjustment once you burn over and above what MFP already assumes you'll burn in a day.0 -

True. Also if you are set on MFP for 0 workouts per week you will see your "credits" show up faster, if you like the visual of that. You can go back into where you logged your walking and delete that.
Edit to add: Fitbit will also remove calories from your daily allotment if you don't move enough. MFP won't let it drop below 1200 but on the fitbit dashboard it will.0 -
Okay so any walking I do not need to log on MFP but I should log biking since the Fitbit doesn't log that.
I went back and deleted off the walking from MFP and it brought my active mins back up on my fitbit dashboard so that was nice!
So I guess the programs talk to each other! I don't think I have an area on the fitbit site to log my desired amount of calories but if there is and anyone can help that would be great!0 -

Set your fitbit goals by going to: ACCOUNT (lower right side) then GOALS. it will walk you through it from there. I have my MFP workout set for 0 workouts per week. Then let fitbit tell me when i earn extra calories. That way i know daily that i have actually earned them.0
