PCOS- 40kgs to lose

Hi there,

I am just starting my weightloss journey, I have 40kgs to lose. I also have a couple of barriers to my weightloss including sleep apnea, PCOS and (apparently) the early stages of thyroid disease yippeee! Not. I have tried multiple times to lose weight- I am even considering weightloss surgery.

If anyone has lost a significant amount of weight with these medical conditions, I would love to hear your stories.

Thanks

P. :-)

PCOS and low thyroid function here-but I no longer take medication for either since my weight is much lower than before- feel free to add me! My diary is open- but heads up I follow iifym and count macros as opposed to traditional calorie counting.

I also have PCOS. I've got a long way to go in my weight loss journey, but I've learned a lot about myself, about PCOS, and I've done tons of research about what others with PCOS have done to succeed in their journeys, and am trying to apply those things to myself, to see where I can go from here. Feel free to add me. I'll do my best to encourage, support, educate (when appropriate), and offer advise from personal experience. :)

I have PCOS and I've lost about 35 pounds so far. I have at least 50 to go. It WILL be difficult! It takes persistence and I have found I have to be more diligent than others I know. It's more difficult for me to lose ... but it's possible! I finally found a good Endocrinologist and I'm on Metformin ER and Spironolactone. Let me tell you, some of my symptoms have improved a LOT since I began treatment and losing some weight. I have to say I haven't been quite as motivated lately so my loss has stalled, but that's the key for me: staying motivated. Not sure why when I've had great success so far, but I also know that my slumps never last :)
  • Hello,
I too am at the start of my weightloss journey with PCOS and along way to go. I have tried various diets but once I hit the plateau I have given up in the past and ended up putting it all back on and then some :( But this time I am motivated with this app and the map my walk app and it seems different this time :) Good luck.

I have PCOS, insulin resistance, and dysautonomia. I have 60lbs to lose altogether, but I'm down 30 now. I have just been exclusively counting calories because I can't work out due to the dysautonomia. You can do it!!! :)

    Hey! Fellow soul-cyster here
PCOS diagnosed when I was 16, struggled with my weight all my life but started losing October last year using MFP, exercise, calorie counting and the supplement garcinia cambogia. Before last October I had never lost more than half a stone with calorie counting, which always went back on again and crept up because I couldn't sustain the calorie deficit. I started MFP and the G.C. at the same time, so I don't know which one is working or if they are both working together, but I have lost 40lbs and have 72 left to lose

Best of luck ladies, and feel free to add me! I am on every day and am a bit of a chatterbox so I am always happy to comment on stuff :flowerforyou:
