Aside from $20... what's the major difference between Polar FT4 and FT7? Is it worth the extra money?

I would stick with an F4 or F6. More user friendly. I purchase the FT4 and returned it. For all the basic imput and information you'll need in turns of Calories burned, heartrate and calculation of information...F4 or F6 will do just fine. I do highly recommend the usage of one.0

F6/F7 etc are the older models, but the difference between the FT4 and Ft7 is the data transfer to the website, you cant transfer at all with FT4 and you need a flowlink to transfer with the Ft7
I have a Ft7 and I never used it, its very easy to use and I would recommend it0 -
Get whichever one allows you to change your own battery instead of shipping it in.0

F4 I dont think is coded - meaning if you use it at the gym it will pick up other machines and HRMs. fine if you work out at home or run alone but not recommended for a gym. Also, dbl check that it has a calorie burn count function. I know the 7 does.
I have a P6, which is like the 7 I believe, and love it.0 -

I just bought the Polar FT80 G1. I got a nice deal on it, at least I thought so, and have been very happy with it so far (one week and 2050 calories so far).0

I think the only real difference is the FT7 you can have all your workouts and everything put onto the computer so you can keep track of your progress, and the FT4 you can't. I have the FT7 and I love it. I just got my husband one for Christmas, now just to get him to use it.0
