Hey everyone- I hope you all had a blessed merry Christmas! I sure did, and the cookies were good too! :)

So its like this... I am sick and tired of being sick and tired! I need to legitimately lose a solid 10lbs..... but how hard it that really? I see people losing 40 and 50lbs+ all of the time- so what is my problem? I dont LIKE being over weight- in fact I am CRABBY when my pants are tight..... (sorry hubby for pitching a fit about that the other day...)

I am 29 (sigh- that number is climbing too lol) and I am a happily married mother of a beautiful 10yr old- I am an Insurance Agent and alos a part time promotional model (yeah I know- this is why I need to drop some lbs yesterday-like...). That being said- I am a very busy individual and I find myself eating/drinking "crap" throughout the day just to stay awake! Now lets make matters worse- I am also a vegetarian... so my diet is very limited in that way.

Any other vegetarian's out there I would LOVE to share ideas/recipes....

Well this is it- time to change. Time to admit I am stubborn and change it. I do NOT want to look back in 10 years and feel like I have WASTED my time here being fat/unhealthy......for that matter I could be dead in 10 years and in that case it is even more important that I take charge of this today.

Here goes nothin'!!! :) Good luck to all!!

  • Hey! I've been trying out recipes on allrecipes.com, and these so far have been successful(ha) and delicious:
    http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Black-Bean-Soup-3/Detail.aspx
    http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Lentils-And-Spinach/Detail.aspx
I end up adding whatever vegetables I have lying around to the black bean soup. There so many vegetarian-friendly recipes on there, as well as recipes you can easily adjust to be so.

But if time's an issue, I highly recommend Amy's products - I eat their burritos and soups all the time, and they're phenomenal. The pizza's really good too. Most grocery stores generally have some of their products (burritos in the frozen foods); I often buy the soups from Walmart. http://www.amyskitchen.com/

I cut out meat early this year, and these have given me some variety. Hope they help!

Awesome- thanks so much for the input! I have been a vegetarian since I was six and because I live in a very small town I dont have a lot of options at the grocery store.
    I am going to give Amy's a try! :)
  • You're welcome! Let me know how you like it :)
