Are there any exercises I can do at home with just legs?

I had a surgery five days ago, and won't be able to work out my upper body for another four weeks or so. I am getting pretty restless not working out at all, and I know I need time to heal, but are there any low-impact workouts that won't affect my upper body to do them? Or am I just shooting in the dark?

Thanks!

First things that come to mind would be:

Walking, step ups, bicycling, and body weight squats and lunges.

Of course I am not sure exactly how much you can or cannot do. If there is any question you should consult your doctor.

I guess I meant in the way of strength training. Thanks for the tips! :)

Do you have access to a gym? They'll have a lot of equipment that's purely devoted to working out your lower half

Yes, I was not sure what your focus was on. I should add calf raise to that list then.

For squats and lunges, IF you need to avoid tightening your core at all use a chair for balance. For lunges with a chair, kick your non-working back (rear body weight lunge) or slide to the side (side lunge) and use a chair for balance.

The nice part about lunges is they are essentially one leg squats, as far as your legs and glutes are concerned, so it is an easy way to double the load without adding the weight to your upper body that you are currently concerned with.

And you are welcome, I hope it helps.
