10 pounds 2 weeks help?!

Okay.. so 2 weeks ago I weighed myself and was 100 pounds. The next day I was super bloated and weighed 105 pounds. I weighed myself throughout that week and remained between 105-107, It's now been 2 weeks and I weigh 110 and I'm STILL bloated in the stomach area and it's frustrating because I have a flat stomach.. it's just bloated. I began weight training a month ago and also increased my cals by 500 to put on lean mass. BUT even with this 10 pound gain.. I look the exact same as I did 2 weeks ago at 100 pounds... is this 10 pounds just my body adjusting to the new weight lifting and eating more? How long before it goes away.. it's really hard to stay motivated with bloat covering the progress. Also.. is it normal for my body to do this a month into it? SHouldn't it have reacted like this in the beginning?

It's normal for your weight to fluctuate when you start a new weight program, your body is just adjusting and it's probably water weight and getting used to the new addition of calories. What are you eating? Are you measuring everything you eat and weighing all foods? Also what are your goals and routine in the gym?0

My goal is to put on some more lean muscle, and build strength. I do count everything yes, and I eat very healthy. A typical day would be whole grain toast with PB2 spread, banana, almonds, for breakfast, lunch would be vegetarian chicken and fruit or veggies, dinner, whole grain pasta or a vegetarian meat with veggies, and snacks throughout the day are things like plain greek yogurt with stevia and honey, apples, bell peppers, popcorn, anything healthy that I have available. I eat 1800 cals a day.

Oh sorry, my workout routine is 5 days a week. 2 days cardio (running for 30 min plus an ab workout) 3 days full body strength training for 45-50 minutes. I will train little of each legs, arms, back, abs, chest, etc.0

What is your height? 100 pounds seems really low. How many calories are you eating per day, and how much are you burning through workouts? What are you eating? Are you TRYING to gain weight (hence the forum) and are concerned about bloat, or are you wanting to stay at 100 pounds?0

Yes, I am trying to gain weight, but the bloat has me concerned because it looks so bad, and the weight I am trying to put on, I want it to be lean muscle.0 -
Ah alrighty. Well, I am a vegetarian as well, and I know a lot of the fake meats are REALLY high in sodium. You've probably gained water weight; so just drink more water and put away the scale for a week. If it still hasn't changed, the scale might be wrong or you should visit your doctor in case something is wrong. In these circumstances, it's almost always water weight though! Just keep doing what you're doing and you should see results.
Also, do you eat back your exercise calories?0 -
Did you say you increased your calories by 500? That's a really big jump, so no wonder you're feeling bloated. A lot of that is probably just the extra weight of the food in your digestive tract. Really watch your sodium intake until your body adjusts to the increased intake. Also, just a thought, I'm also a vegetarian and I can't eat meat substitutes that regularly. I'm sensitive to processed soy and I get headaches and sometimes have issues with inflammation (I get all puffy). Maybe try reducing the fake meat and substituting with other vegetarian protein options for a little while if you think the soy could be a contributor?0

I'll try to watch the certain fake meats I eat, thank you both for the advice! : )0
